left over pills - what do I do with them? (malarone)

28 July, 2008 at 19:40 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I have some Malarone anti malaria pills left over (still in date) but was wondering what to do with them. I know I should take them to a pharmacy but then presumably they'd just get thrown away which seems wasteful. They cost a fortune to buy so was wondering if I could give them away instead or is this a no-no?

Thanks

You shouldnt give medication given to you to anyone else. Only option really is the pharmacy. Well I wouldnt give them to anyone anyway

Take them to the pharmacy. According to my pharmacutical rep friend they don't get thrown away, there is a scheme where they are given to developing countries who might not be able to afford the drugs. So in fact you would be helping someone out ?

I agree, take them to the pharmacy, then you know that they have been disposed of safely
