Hi all,


I'm getting married on the 1st of November 2023, I live in Nottinghamshire, but the venue is in Derbyshire, I am so confused I have no idea on how to register the date ect.... HELP

    Your registrar will be booked with Derbyshire but you need to give notice to a registry office in Nottinghamshire.

    You must always 'give notice' in your residing borough regardless of where you're getting married. You then book the registra but you should check if the registra is included in the venue or if you need to book separately (usually with the local authority of where you're getting married). You should note when you give notice you'll need to provide the name, address and date of the venue where you are getting married. If you make any changes to this you'll need to give notice again but be mindful of the time between giving notice and the wedding as there needs to be a certain amount of time your intention to marry is publicilly displayed.
