Lining a hall with voile

YorkshireGirl77, 22 April, 2009 at 15:13 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi, Am looking for a bit of advice. I am planning to get married later this year and we have found a hall that we like for the ceremony and reeception. The pictures on the website show a marquee inside the hall which looks lovely but we are on a very tight budget. I wondered if there was a way of lining the hall with voile myself or if there were companies that did this as a cheaper alternative to a marquee.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks

    Hi ya

I wouldn't go down the road of doing it yourself, as it will just look like a room that you have hung sheets on, no offense intended. Unless you are truely creative and have a lot of time and patience I would go down the root of getting a company in to do it for you. There are plenty out there eg/

You need to look for venue dressers. I did get a quote for a room once and it was £500-£600 to line a hall.

I agree with Ruth. Its hard to make it look professional.

Here's an example.... It was a few days after Christmas and the idea was a winter wonderland scene. The blue uplighting is mine....it looked a tad bland without. http://www.sandysoundsweddingdisco.com/images/mark%20and%20charlotte%201.jpg
