Ah thanks, it was fab! They had only done 5 weddings before us so it was a bit different too! We had to have it on a Sunday as obviously they couldnt shut on a Friday or Saturday as they are too busy but we had the whole building to ourselves and did our first dance on the altar with the petals dropped on us from above, was lovely! Wish we could do it again!

Me either! Started trying to find a venue now though, I'm on quite a tight budget so im stuggling a little!

Trying to stay local as well....

Does anyone have any ideas of venues that are a little bit off the beaten track? I dont want a super formal wedding. And hopefully somewhere I can get my own caterers in.

    What do people think?

Thanks in advance for the advice! xxxx

Ah I've only just seen this! Yes we had exclusive use! We had welcome drinks downstairs the wedding breakfast and speeches upstairs and then the night do downstairs, I will put some flashes on for you in a bit. We only had our tog till after the speeches so the night time ones arent pro ones but you can get the jist!

We didnt know they did it either, we just asked on the off chance when we were in there having a drink- and they do nt advertise as a wedding venue but they will do it if asked.

I'd probably stay in town if that was me (having wedding at George's), I know the Living Rooms do weddings. What's your budget and how many guests do you have?

I ideally wanted something that had a bit of outside space.

But i dont think im going to get that in the city centre.

I've looked at a place called Lowlands which is lovely, but im worried i might be basing too much of my wedding on the hopes of nice weather and it being a lot outside. i wanted like a country garden theme with bunting and bird cages with flowers in.

Im only having 40 to the day and 100 in the evening.

I just think im being a bit too fussy.

Basically what i need, is my mum to move to a house with a big garden and i'd just have it there!! haha!

    Hhhmmmmm... anyone know anywhere?

What we did was get married in a church then we had champagne and canapes like a little garden party for 2 hours in the church garden and got lots of outdoor green photos there. Then we moved onto Alma. So we got the best of both worlds! Nope not dress twins!!

We had 150 day time guests and 230 in the night. You really couldn't fault the staff they were fantastic, the barmen were dancing on the bar and doing cocktails tom cruise style throwing bottles in the air in the night time, they really got into it! One of them was wearing my Mums hat at one point! ha ha!

Yes, ive looked at places like the Racquet club, the marina, 60 hope street, lowlands in West derby (which i love and is probably going to be the place im gonna go with), the devonshire which my mum hated and was really open about it! haha!

Theres a place were trying to get a look at called CHET in little crosby which looks nice.

im starting to wonder if a bar is the way to go, not a hotel... x

We looked at CHET my husbands mum lives right by there. The only thing with it is, you have to hire it for the whole weekend so Friday to Sunday and it doesnt come with and chairs or tables or a bar or catering so you have to get all this is yourself. It worked out more expensive than Alma!

Yeah the Devonshire used to be lovely years ago but its gone down the nick a bit hasn't it. My friend is having the Raquet Club the day before christmas eve, my hubbys best man! I've never been but I've heard its lovely.

    Lowlands looks lovely.

Are you getting married in a church first or doing the whole thing at your venue?

Oooh yeah the Isla Gladstones lovely, we went to two there last year. Both lovely and doesnt matter about the weather at all. You could have your theme in there as well loads of places to hang bunting etc. Theres often deals on groupon for there too.

Ah Thanks!! Yeah St Marys Church in Aughton, its like in the middle of the countryside a little old fashioned country church, H's cousin is the priest there so it was lovely! Here it is down a little country lane,

I love the West Tower! Yours will be fab too!
