Livestreaming?

Gemma, 10 August, 2022 at 17:54 Posted on Planning 0 2
We are only having a small wedding at Gretna Hall with immediate family (our parents and our children) invited due to spiralling costs otherwise which would make it an impossible dream otherwise but there are people who I would love to attend if money was no object. We are considering livestreaming the wedding and some other parts - is anyone else considering or doing this? Does anyone have any advice suggestions or recommendations?

We did this for our Covid wedding. We used Youtube because we had some family who aren't on Facebook. We had it set up so that it was only accessible to those who had the link - I didn't fancy my wedding being watched by anyone in the world!

It worked really well. Just make sure you speak up during the vows - I was so quiet that the microphone only picked up a couple of words from me (the registrar had sternly told us we must say our vows 'as quietly as possible' to reduce Covid risk, and I think I took her a bit too seriously Smiley xd )

We also asked the minister when he was welcoming people to say something to acknowledge those who were watching online - people said they really appreciated being included in this way. So maybe ask your officiant to do the same?

Thanks for this. I know it seems a bit odd and oart of the reasoning behind Gretna was to cut the guest list, but I think this will work as a happy medium for us 😊
