London Brides.... Where are you getting ready and who with?!?

CBeckford, 5 September, 2014 at 11:43 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi Ladies,

Happy Friday!!

I just wanted some advice if possible. (Apologies in advance if I ramble)

We're getting married next July at Stoke Newington Town Hall and having our reception at Clissold House. My fiancé and I live in South East London and my parents live too far in Hornchurch (Essex) for me to get ready there.

I looked in to the Rose and Crown guesthouse for us to stay the night and get ready (me and the maids in 1 suite and the boys in another), I called then a few week ago and the two large suites are booked for the dates I wanted ?

I've reserved an apartment at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, but wanted to know if there were any more places we could stay the night before and get ready. I wanted the bridal Party together in the morning then the boys could go and do the final venue check while I got my dress on and finishing touches.

Any suggestions are most welcome!

Stokie!! Mum's a florist on Church Street so does loads of the Hackney Venues weddings - good choice on venues!!

I'm doing the opposite - getting ready in London then going out for half hour to wedding in Herts! Sorry not much use. But generally you don't need to be very close to your venue, I'd say go for a bigger London hotel if you wanted to and then drive up. What about the Hilton in Islington? That's only about 10 minutes down the road? x

    Hi MrsS,

Yep, We're both Shoreditch and Stokie lovers so it was the first place we started looking. Our familes are from Jamaica and Poland so we wanted the setting to be fun.

This morning I found this place: http://www.theluxuryinn.com/ which would be perfect, we wanted a nice but informal place to stay. Crossing fingers and waiting to hear if they have availability for our dates!

    What's your mum's shop called?

Hi I'm not a London bride but what about the Hoxton Hotel in Shoreditch? That's where we always stay when visiting and its quite trendy without breaking the bank. They also do family rooms that have inter-connecting doors?
