long shot....worcestershire (maybe birmingham) hen do ideas?

TreacleTart, 14 January, 2015 at 10:23 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi all, I've decided finally on an afternoon tea hen do, nice and low key...with maybe the option of either a sleepover/films/takeaway/board games evening, or if the mood arises finding somewhere to go out and dance...

It's a long shot cus I know there aren't many of us Worcestershire brides on here but does anyone have any ideas where might host a hen-do friendly afternoon tea? I've just mailed Stanbrook Abbey as their website does state they hold hen and stag do's but otherwise I'm stuck for ideas...we just want to get dressed up a little bit, have some afternoon tea/drinks and maybe play some silly games like Mr and and Mrs...I know some places are a bit funny about hosting 'obvious' hen do's, I guess we might wear sashes or have a couple balloons or something subtle (no willy headbands and condoms stuck on veils) so gotta try find a place that doesnt mind that.

The other option is going somewhere central Birmingham...Id sooner stick with the Worcester area but seeing as Birmingham is so central for us I'd consider it if anyone has any suggestions of nice places to go?

Hi! Nice to hear from another Worcestershire bride ?

There are a couple of the larger places that will do it like Chateau Impney or Brockencote Hall, both are lovely with lots of grounds as well.

I've been to Chateau Impney and it was lovely but has been done up since so not sure what it now looks like. I imagine all three would be good for a Hen do though.

I've been for afternoon tea at Woodnorton and it was really nice. What about going into Worcester, The Quay do afternoon tea then you could maybe take a boat trip after?

Thanks for the suggestions! I did consider the Wood Norton but its about 45 minutes from mine and Im trying to keep costs down for the people coming, I think a 45 minutes there and back taxi might cost a fair bit...I do like it there tho (it was one of the venues we looked at)

The Chateau Impneys a bit closer though so that'll be worth looking into thanks...

Ive also been suggested the Bank House Hotel so will message them too, and I'll have a look at the Quay - never heard of that actually! But good idea as theres also a few other places near the river I could get in touch with too...

    Thanks!

Dinner and dancing sounds fun! I'll have a look, but as I'm trying to keep it fairly low cost, and not finish too late so those that need to get home can do, probably wont be feasible...nice to hear the food is excellent though, me and OH were musing on whether to go there for dinner after viewing it as a venue.

Yum! 7 courses- ALWAYS a winner!!

I looked up the quay too, didn't realise it was Browns...worth consideration! Though ATM the bank house hotel might just have swing it, the lady who got back to me was enthusiastic about it and already given is some ideas of things to do which is always nice! Considering I wasn't going to have one I'm quite excited by it now Smiley smile thanks fellow worcestershire ladies!!
