Looking for a hairdresser in Dundee

scotlady101, 19 May, 2009 at 20:53 Posted on Planning 0 13

Hi Girlies

I have a wedding to attend in Dundee at the end of August and need to find a hairdresser in Dundee that can do a "do" for me on the day of the wedding. Anyone got any suggestions or are planning using someone? We are staying at the Hilton, so would need to be easy to find from there?

Thanks for your help,

E x

I'd personally say Charlie Taylors on the Perth rd....very successful businesswoman who has a branch of hair dressers around and about..... failing that, maybe McIntyres in the town would be your best bet.

I've just moved from dundee so Hillier is your woman to ask.......

Hi Im in Dundee and would recommend my haridresser but as she is bit out of centre probably not best for you. Hilton is in Centre offtown so youd be best with one there. I can give name of a few that friends use - McIntyres - Union Street/ Blu South Tay Street and Karen Smith - Commercial Street. All are very central. Think they all have website that you could check out. Hope thats some help .There are quite a few near you so if none of these any good et me know and will check out some others

I was gonna suggest you asked Hillier too, Im sure she coud recommend somewhere.

I used to go to a good hairdressers when I was at uni there, I can't remember what it was called, Hillier/Teehee, it was outside the overgate, across the street from what used to be Littlewoods and is now Primark? I can't remember what it was called? xx

Hey shiona, no I don't recognise that name.

It was a two story place, the shop was downstairs and upstairs. I just remember it was outside the overgate, but just across the road, would br Nethergate I think. It's bugging me I can't remember the name!

Macintyres is on Perth Road, but at the Uni end. They're good, a bit pricey from what I remember.

Sorry Shiona, just googled it, that was it, but I remember it was called espace, I liked that place, I didn't know it had closed! xx

Macintyres has two branches - one on the perth road and the other is down the town, on the corner beside the train station...where shiona says it is..

    evening ladies! ?

i have a friend who has her own hairdressers, its called jackson gray - it is however on the outskirts of the town centre (about 10min drive from there to the hilton)

but there are a few other really good places:

*mcintyres is very good but VERY expensive

*Saks is fab but again expensive

*charlie taylor - although i have never had an updo there

and bit of a dark horse is Anne Geddes, the stylist there Nicole is BRILLIANT cant recommend her enough (and the prices are reasonable)

all these places are in the town centre so about 5-10 walk from the hilton

let us know how you get on kizzy! plus as ALWAYS pics are required............................lol xx

Thanks for the info - its not until the end of August, but reckon that I will need to book in advance! Would you mind speaking to your friend and asking when I would need to book the appt by (29th August), I'll have the car and my sat nav so it shouldn't be a problem. Would rather give the business to someone we know and approve of!

    Pics will follow - lol!
