Looking for wedding shoes - size 9 ballerina style

princessa81@live.co.uk, 4 March, 2012 at 10:55 Posted on Planning 0 9

Hi Guys!

Am finding it really difficult to find ballerina style shoes for my wedding. I am a wide size 9 and finding anything suitable is becoming a nightmare as I've damaged my right foot and thus cannot wear anything with a heel currently!!! ?

Need help as am getting stressed and only got 8 weeks to find them!! ?

Any help would be really appreciated ?

Upper Street? Takes six weeks to deliver, so need to be snappy about ordering. You can basically design your own shoes - if you make an appointment to go in to their studio just off Holloway Road they will get you to try on lots of shoes so they can work out the exact measurements of your feet to ensure your shoes (which are handmade to your design) fit perfectly. They are not cheap, though, flats start at £200 a pair.

French Sole? Lovely lovely shape on these shoes

They come up small - you will probably need a 10 (which they do)

All of these Elegant Steps shoes come in a size 9

    Hi Elizabeth,

I have the same issue as you - I am keen on dancing so will probably opt for Heavenly Dance Shoes which are a reasonable way (approx 70-80) of getting handmade shoes!

Also try tall girls.co.uk. They have some while or ivory ballet pumps: http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/shoes-size-9-10-11-12-1/low-heels-and-flat-shoes-size-9-10-11-12-1/tall-girls-size-9-10-11-12-ballet-pump.html and http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/shoes-size-9-10-11-12-1/low-heels-and-flat-shoes-size-9-10-11-12-1/tall-girls-size-9-10-11-12-flat-ballerina.html

    Good luck!

I'd be careful with heavenly dance shoes, last time I tried to order shoes from them the order seemed to go through but then didn't hear anything back from them for weeks, they didn't reply to emails and in the end I ordered them from another site. That was over a year ago and I still haven't heard anything from them.

I'm about 8 1/2 and I got my wedding shoes and several other pairs of dancing shoes from this site:

    http://www.danceenterprise.co.uk/www.danceenterprise.co.uk/info.php?p=1&pno=0

My dancing shoes are always way more comfortable than normal shoes. They do have suede soles tho so won't last long if you wear them outside. But I figure I'm only going to wear them for 1 day so what does it matter.

If you email the guy at dance enterprise he is very helpful regarding sizes etc. When I first ordered from him he agreed to send out a couple of different sizes of shoe for me to try on before I ordered them. Because they make the shoes to your order you can't send them back if they don't fit.

    Hi DaffyB,

I have had a mixed experience with Heavenly Dance Shoes - first 3 pairs were perfect and very, very comfortable. The last order was awful but they have since got new owners and friends of mine have had good prompt service again. I wonder if your order fell between the cracks with the old owners and the new ones taking over?

I really don't like suede soles - find them less easy to dance on. And as you say impractical for wearing outside.

Can you completely tailor the shoes from dance enterprise, or do you have to choose one of their standard shoes?

    Hi

you do have to use their designs but they have hundreds of differnt designs to look through and the guy I spoke to seemed really helpful so if there is something you want in particular it would be worth contacting him to see if they can do it. You can choose whichever heel height and style you want, There is a list of the heels somewhere on the site, so you can customise them in that way.

I did order a pair from heavenly shoes before which were great but haven't tried again since the last disaster with them. I guess as you say it could have been during the take over so maybe I should give them another try.
