Low Cost venues in Essex???

Not sure what part of Essex you are, or if venue can hold 90 (think it might be 80) but have you looked at Forresters golf club in Great Totham? They're quite cheap, we went for a barn venue in the end but have been to a few weddings there.

We weNt with Crabbs Barn in kelvedon. Not cheap exactly but just what was right for us. We were looking at Vaulty Manor near Goldhanger and Heybridge as they don't charge corkage but Crabbs Barn just pipped them in our opinion. I didn't look too much in your direction though. I work in Southend but live in Colchester (bit of a commute eh?) and most of family are Colchester based. I work right by the skylark hotel (used to be county hotel) but haven't checked prices, maybe they're worth a look.

Prested Hall, the other side of kelvedon is also nice.

I can second Crabbs Barn, that was second on our list. I know alot of the golf clubs around essex are lovely and offer good last minute packages, such as Three Rivers and Channels. I dont know if its too far for you but the Fennes in Bocking always email me through deals and last minute packages.
