Make Up or No Make Up????

Bride, 4 of May of 2021 at 16:34 Posted on Planning 1 9
Did you wear make-up and feel like a dingbat? I am 33, don't wear make up except a bit of mascara. What do I do?

Will I feel like an idiot? Did anyone wish they had less make-up for their day? So torn. I want photos to look natural.

There r a number of videos of natural and bridal make up on you tube, whilst they probably use 10 different make ups its good to watch some and just take a couple of hints from them. I have hooded eyes (most common type) and there r ways to make your eyes look just a bit less "liddy" so worth a look anyway I think, but if you're comfortable without then go without. Always try before the day though, never experiment on the day!

I am 37, rarely wear makeup at all. I am intending to do my own makeup on the day (under current plans) because I don't want to look like "everyone else" I want to look like me!

I'm 40, usually wear make up (much less since covid) but intended to slap it all over my face for my wedding! I'm familiar with stage make up (not that it'll be that heavy) but I'm quite confident doing it myself.
You don't have to wear a lot of make up if it doesn't feel like you.

I would say this is completely up to you and what you feel comfortable in! If you wanted to wear a more natural kind of makeup on your day I would look for a makeup artist who specialises in that (unless you’re doing it yourself) maybe a little bit of eyeshadow, some mascara, tinted moisturiser and lipgloss or something might be better for you if you don’t want to wear too much makeup

I wear 0 make up day to day, and am getting one of my bridesmaids to just do something v light for my wedding - not getting a MUA as I want people to recognise me as I come down the aisle! But as Shannon says, its what you think you're going to feel happiest in - if you've got a decent photographer you'll look good in whatever! Smiley smile

I think you should do a little bit makeup for wedding. But if you have clean skin it's not necessary i guess.

I've never worn makeup and didn't wear any for my wedding day. In spite of the horrified reactions when I told people in advance (seriously, the fuss they created you'd have thought I was proposing to walk down the aisle with no clothes on instead of no makeup!!!), no one thought I looked odd on the day, and I love our photos - I don't look 'washed out' or 'featureless' as everyone said I would, I just looked like me. And one person even asked me who did my makeup because they loved my 'natural look' - I thought it was interesting that, because they assumed I would be wearing makeup, they 'saw' it!

Wear what you want to, but don't feel pressured into wearing any (or wearing loads when you'd rather only wear a little) because it's expected. Just doing whatever you normally do for a special day out will be fine.

It is such a personal choice. I wear minimal makeup sometimes. I want makeup for my wedding day, but don’t want to look like I’ve been contoured and highlighted to within an inch of my life! Basically, I want to look like me, only better! I have found a makeup artist that can deliver this, but I won’t lie, it took some searching! The majority of ones I looked at liked to highlight the tip of someone’s nose until it looked like a lighthouse! Proper bridal MUAs, as I found, are a bit more expensive, but if you do want a natural makeup look I think they are worth the price

I'm 55 I might wear a bit of lipstick to work and people are saying get a makeup artist for the day. I'm not feeling it though either
