Makeup or hair for bridesmaids

Jessica, 13 January, 2025 at 16:34 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 1 13
Hi everyone, i’m currently planning my August 2026 wedding and we are trying to do it as budget as possible. I’m having 4 bridesmaids and have received a lot of quotes for hair and makeup for myself and bridesmaids and have realised just how much it costs for all! I’m thinking of paying for either hair or makeup but i’m wondering which one, or do i give them the option of which they’d like done? has anyone else done this before? Thank you!

The general rule in the UK is that you need to pay for things you are specifically requesting. So if you want all your bridesmaids to wear makeup and have their hair done a specific way, then you need to pay for it, if you are happy for them to do whatever they want with their own hair/makeup, then you don't.

If you want a cohesive look, I'd probably pay for them to get their hair done and they can then either pay for their own makeup to be done, do it themselves or just go without. Most people who wear makeup regularly are used to applying it, but not so many people are used to putting their hair up in formal styles, so this might be trickier for them to manage on their own.

Understanding recent legal incidents can be crucial for staying informed about public safety and legal matters. For those looking to explore California Arrest Updates, accessing reliable sources can provide valuable insights into case details and trends. Keeping track of such developments ensures better awareness of legal proceedings in the region. Always refer to credible resources for accurate and up-to-date information.

Personally I am just paying for hair and makeup for my bridesmaids as a treat/thank you/pamper session - I am not requiring a specific style or look for them. However, if your budget does not stretch to it, just pay for yourself to be done and allow your bridesmaids to fix themselves up as they prefer. If you are going for either hair or makeup, I think you notice hair more than you do makeup on wedding photos, so maybe do that?

By the way, while you're thinking about makeup or hairstyles for the bridesmaids, you could also take a break and try your luck at Pinco Casino . It's a great place for entertainment where you can enjoy some games and maybe even win something exciting while preparing for the big event!

I would go for hair and ask the bridesmaids to do their own makeup. I think then if they all go quite natural, you'll have a nice cohesive look.

That’s a helpful post! I recently shared feedback about my dining experience and was surprised how simple the process was. If anyone’s interested in sharing their thoughts after a recent visit, the Wendys Feedback Form is a great way to do it. It only takes a few minutes and sometimes even comes with a reward. It’s also a good way for Wendy’s to improve based on real customer input. Definitely worth checking out if you still have your receipt.

That’s such a thoughtful topic! While planning bridal makeup or hair, coordinating schedules and preferences for each bridesmaid can be tricky. I recently checked Travis Case Search for event-related legal permits and info—it’s surprisingly helpful when managing timelines and bookings around big events. Keeping everything organized makes the day much smoother!

Many people choose professional makeup and have their hair styled by themselves or with the help of friends, because the durability of professional makeup and the effect of photography are quite different.

The reverse is also possible: If you or the bridesmaid are usually very good at makeup, you can ask a hairstylist to unify the look, and the overall look will also be very harmonious.

    Hi Jessica,

I find some brides will offer to pay for one service and then let your bridal party pay for the other service if they would like a full pamper. I work for Just about weddings hair and beauty and we cover the whole of the UK and have a massive team of talented hair and makeup stylists. No bridal party size is to big.

Covering one service is a really common budget-friendly approach, and giving your bridesmaids the choice usually works best. Some people feel more confident doing their own makeup, while others would rather not touch their hair — so letting them pick what they’d prefer tends to keep everyone happy.

You’ll still get a polished look in photos without taking on the full cost, and they can pay for the other service only if they want it. It’s a fair and really normal compromise.

That’s a great question — I lean toward hair for bridesmaids, because it stays put through laughs, hugs, and lots of photos. But makeup is also powerful; a soft, natural look can complement their dresses beautifully without overwhelming their features. One balanced approach I’ve seen work well is doing a simple up-style for hair, paired with a light makeup look that highlights their best features. Ultimately, picking what makes them feel confident and comfortable will shine through in every shot.

Hey! I totally get you—hair and makeup costs can get so crazy, especially with multiple bridesmaids! One thing I’ve seen work really well is giving your bridesmaids the choice of either hair or makeup, depending on what makes them feel most confident. That way, everyone gets something they actually want, and you can manage your budget better.

Also, a little tip—while planning, I started looking into natural ways to prep our skin for the big day. Using skin care routines and products like Patchouli Body Butter really helped everyone’s skin look glowing, and it’s a nice extra treat without breaking the bank. For relaxing pre-wedding stress, some of my friends swore by using Pain Relief Oil for sore shoulders and tension, which kept everyone calm and ready for hair and makeup appointments.

In the end, it’s about making everyone feel special without going overboard. Let them choose, prep the skin nicely, and maybe throw in a little relaxation ritual—that combination worked wonders for us!
