Looking for some advice from people who have either honeymooned in the Maldives or travelled there during the summer months!
We're getting married on 26th June 2027 and originally loved the idea of going straight on honeymoon afterwards. Our dream destination is the Maldives, and we'd be looking at staying for around 2 weeks in July.
However, I've been reading lots of mixed reviews about the weather. Some people say it's absolutely fine and that rain tends to come in short tropical showers, while others say because it's monsoon season there can be quite a lot of cloud, wind and rain.
Part of me is wondering whether we should:
- Go straight after the wedding in July and enjoy being newlyweds on our dream honeymoon, accepting that the weather might not be perfect.
- Wait until the end of November, when the weather is supposed to be much better, but that would mean postponing our honeymoon for around 5 months.
For those who have been to the Maldives in July, what was the weather actually like? Did rain affect your holiday much? If you stayed for around 2 weeks, how many days would you say were genuinely rainy?
And if you delayed your honeymoon, did you regret not going straight after the wedding?
