Maldives wedding?

Not personally done a Maldives wedding but a family member did and regretted it as it was too expensive for a lot of the family they wanted to be there. They went ahead without important people there and regretted it. Ended up doing a mini wedding a year later on their anniversary to make up for it.
Friends of mine got married in Malta, so still a destination wedding but more affordable.

We are currently in the process of planning our wedding in the Maldives for next year. Yes it is expensive, but after the past year with COVID we wanted the wedding to be for us and to be a once in a lifestyle experience. As it stands we have approx 10 people booked on and confirmed as attending. But we have stressed to them that this is their holiday, we just ask for their time on one day when we are out there.
We are booking through a travel agent /company so everyone has a point of contact. We have couples going out a little before us. And other couples coming out a couple days before the ceremony. They have been able to choose their accommodation and packages on the island so they have full flexibility.
We are legalising our marriage before we go out abs at a later date after the Maldives will be hosting a UK wedding reception for others to attend ☺️
