Mallorca wedding advice?

Thanks for that. We're meeting a lady next week but thought I'd better cast the net a little wider, especially as we're not exactly sure what we want for the ceremony.

SB Mallorca - http://www.sbmallorca.com/. They seem similar to Ars Festrum, whom I have contacted but haven't received prices from! And as we aren't thinking about getting a wedding planner (at this point anyway), I think we'll try to book all our decor/ lighting through just one company!

Traditional parfait sounds delicious as wedding cake! We're looking at having cupcakes in place of a wedding cake because dessert is already included with our meal and there's also an extra charge for cutting the cake and serving to guests at the venue. So we figured it'll be nicer to box up the cupcakes as leaving gifts, or to be eaten when people get a little hungry in the early hours!

We've booked Hotel Cas Xorc for the wedding weekend. It's in the mountains, not far from Soller.

So the restaurant there will be providing all the food and drink on the wedding day! And we're getting married in the grounds.

I'm still trying to decide on a florist and Dj, and band. Phew!!

Sounds lovely! Good luck with the band we searched for months and eventually gave up and booked a DJ as the only band we liked wanted 5000 euros! Also Velvet Music who are the agency for most of the bands over there are useless and I don't mind saying that outloud!! We asked for a quote at least 10 times and she only got back to us 3 months later and was generally rude and unapproachable. Joanne Walton is supposed to be a great florist based in inca, definitely worth a google, let me know if you want meto pass on the details of our florist she's a really good price, English too which helps and she works from home which keeps costs down xx

We've had the same issue. Found one band we're quite keen on but struggling to track them down - can't get through on phone, no response on email, no idea of their prices. Finally had a reply on Facebook - and luckily they have a gig in Palma tonight, so going to pop down for a listen. Although without knowing what they charge, could be a futile mission!

Who did you book for DJ in the end?

I've been speaking with Joanne, who seems really nice and arrangements look lovely, but I'd definitely be interested to get quotes elsewhere if you wouldn't mind passing them my way!

Hi Nellsbells. . hope you're well. Just came back to this as recalled you mentioned that you had a saxophonist play alongside the dj at your wedding. Could you perhaps forward on his details - as well as the dj?

We're still quite stuck on the music front. Found a band that we'd love, but they don't want to play ball and won't respond to any messages! sigh!

My first post on here, my partner proposed to me on Christmas day, and we've decided to have our big day in Majorca in May 2015. I am currently in the process of looking for venues, I will be sorting everything myself, no wedding planner as I think I've got enough time!
I think I wil be alright with flowers and decor thanks to all your suggestions in previous posts (thank you very much!) I'll just be stuck on hair and make up, only because I am so fussy, I might even end up doing my own, but I have quite a lot of time to decide. Any suggestions on hair will be appreciated!

I probably won't need any sort of wedding car as we'll have already hired our own. Our honeymoon will be in a different part of Majorca after the wedding.

I have already bought my bridesdmaid dresses as they were an absolute bargain in the Christmas sales!

Hope you don't mind me jumping on the bandwagon but I am also getting married in Majorca in Sept 2014. To be honest, I'm not sure I have a lot to offer this thread right now but it's always good to see what others are doing so thought I would jump in and say hi!

We are getting married at the Hilton Sa Torre in Llucmajor, with only a small wedding of 25 guests. So far, I have booked this, bought my dress and found a registrar but not done anything else!

Other than Joanna Walton, can anyone advise on somewhere for flowers? If anyone can recommend any hair/beauty people to consider, that would be great as well!

Hi all - Can I join the club? I got engaged NYE! We are planning either October 2014 or May 2015 for our Wedding in Majorca just looking at venues now. I am a little worried about the weather as early May or Late October is a bit of a risk- does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Im keen to hear about venues and ideas for beachy wedding dresses. We are looknin at Cala D'or and Andratx at the moment and basically anywhere around the south and west coast.

Congrats!! were getting married end of may as the weather is really good that time of year around 27c in the day and cool in the evening and much less chance of rain in may than sept/oct, im pretty sure sept is the rainiest month. we looked at a few venues in Andratx but it was a very expensive area, and therefore also expensive for guests to we chose the north of the island, cala dor would be more accessable for them, but totally different feel to Andratx, a lot more built up and geared up for brits so i would have a think about what kind of place you want, happy to recommend my wedding planner if you need any help x

Hi guys... I am after some advice please! I am getting married in Puerto Pollensa in June this year and am after a recommendation on a DJ and possibly a guitarist, saxophonist to play during reception drinks etc? Also ny transport recommendations.

I hope it's ok for me to write here, I'm not quite sure how these forums work!

My fiancé and I are getting married in Deia in October 2015. We have booked a venue and although we were almost set on a catering company we are now a bit unsure if they are right for us. Does anyone have any catering company recommendations? We are Irish and have a lot of people coming from Ireland and England so we want to make sure there is plenty of food and drink available to our guests. Has anyone used La Alacena before? They seem really on it, but the food looks very like fine dining (which of course is lovely but costs a fortune and we are worried about portion sizes etc)

Has anyone built their own bar for their wedding, and just bought in all the drink? It's something we are considering doing and we would love advice from anyone who has attempted it!

I am getting maried next august in Mallorca and I am trying to find decorator and DJ/Band for our wedding at a reasonable cost. I don't know about you but everything seem to cost a fortune there (the photographer, the food, it's crazy)! I saw posts about Deejay, they look amazing and have a singer as well. Anyone used them? How much do they cost?

Hi @son marroig 2015. We were married in Mallorca just 2 weeks ago - and used a DJ from Deejays Grup. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. They charged approx 500 Euros for 3 hours, with option to add additional hours on the night (which came in very handy as we had paid until 1.30 am - and we ended up extending until 3.30 am). In addition, my fiance and I had very specific feelings about the music (no cheesy pop etc) and Deejays Grup were very open to us sending them a Spotify play list that they could work from throughout the night .

Music -wise we also hired Duo Son Bossa for our ceremony and reception - they were amazing.

We used Deejays group too, they were great, although i would say its best to be really specific with them about absolute no-nos for your playlist - we told them we didnt want any typical wedding music aka sister sledge, abba etc, but out came Grease Megamix so we swiftly had to cut that! apart from that they were really great, another slightly odd word of warning - when we cut the cake they randomly started playing a really weird song, im assuming its a majorcan thing but we were wetting ourselves laughing so you might want to make sure you chose a song for the cake cutting

Oh and as for decoration we used ars festrum from Palma, they were great, worth a look x

We are getting married in Deia in may 2015 and have just booked Cutting Edge. We have had two tastings and the food was amazing!!! I am also using Violeta Minnik for the photography, she is amazing too.

Still struggling for a band really dont want anything too cheesy. Would like something a little Blue grass. Any ideas?

I am also using Petra at Moments as a wedding planner, she has been great!

It's Ars Festrum not arts perhaps that's why you can't find them, they're great they basically have everything you could need but they're not cheap though x
