Man of Honour Outfit?

mandspice, 3 May, 2013 at 12:58 Posted on Planning 0 4

We have a black and white theme and H2B and his best man and ushers are wearing black suits, black ties, white shirts and black waistcoats.

I have a "Man of Honour" and I want him to wear something slightly different so he stands out from the ushers. But don't want him to look like a waiter.

Would black suit, black shirt and tie and white waistcoat look weird? Or black suit, black shirt, black waistcoat and white tie? Or just ALL black (suit / shirt / tie / waistcoat). Or patterned black and white waistcoat (although I'd rather avoid those, too "weddingy" !)

I'd love him to wear a white suit and black shirt but he's not having any of that....

We're not having a colour so it has to be a combination of black and white.

Would love your opinions. Thank you!

In order of weirdness (most weird first):

Actually, I take back the fact they are in order - I think they'll all look a bit bizarre (apart from the patterned waistcoat, which is not bizarre but just not my thing).

You're missing an obvious and, for me, the best, combination.

Black suit, black waistcoat (optional), white shirt, white tie.

    Ha ha! I'm doomed then.

But white shirt and tie and the rest black is an option, true. Does a white tie not look a bit Peter Stringfellow though?

    Brad Stringfellow!

It does look nice actually, and kind of "pure" to go with my dress. Nice one, thank you.
