Marian Keyes - Anybody Out There (possible spoilers)

Sunset21, 1 September, 2008 at 12:14 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

I'm only on chapter 17, I haven't read any of her stuff for ages but i'm finding myself wishing she'd get to the point. Is it this slow all the way through? I've been wondering since chapter 7 if Aidan is dead and the more I read the more I'm thinking of the film PS I Love You (didn't read the book btw!

Is it like this the whole way through?

It does get better but you're right. She goes on so long it means you end up guessing what is happening rather than being 'surprized'. It isn't one of her better efforts but still a good read.

    I gave up on it!

If someone would like to tell me what happens that would be good!!! (as spoiler in the title!)

I would persevere - it does get better and faster-paced once the big 'surprise' (which I also guessed fairly soon in) is revealed.

Is it revealed right at the end though? I find myself willing it on but not wanting to know or hoping i've guessed wrongly.

You don't have to wait to the very end from what I recall. I did like the book but found it frustrating waiting to find out exactly what happened as I suspected it was something bad and I hate bad things happening in books. I'm a sensitive soul ?

I read it ages ago so can't remember exactly when it happened but no it's not right at the end. I love the book and must be the only person that didn't guess!

    No, about halfway through IIRC.
