Marquee cost

Amy, 5 January, 2024 at 13:06 Posted on Planning 0 3
We’re looking into putting a marquee up in our garden. Can anyone let me know how much they ended up paying to do this?
We just had a quote for 10k which seems crazy to me!

It depends on what is included, toilets, power, water, flooring, tables, chairs. And then the style of marquee, stretch tent, pole tent, sailcloth, "normal" lined unlined. A marquee in a field is never a low cost option in comparison to a "venue" but is a totally blank canvas (literally in some cases ) and you can do exactly what you want.

Hi Amy! We are getting married in a tipi (a venue in a farmers field) and the whole thing including electrics, 3 day hire, running water, tables, bar (not filled) floor, toilets, seating area, catering tent if needed, dance floor, fairy lights, disco ball, the venue owners are there for the whole 3 days to help you if needed, sofas in the lounge area etc is around £3k less than what you’ve been quoted! We still have to decorate it if we want too. This holds 150 seated and 200 at night! I hope this helps!

We had some quotes on this and I think it depends on the type of marquee (tipis and sailcloth seem to be more expensive than standard marquees) and capacity. Plus peak season (summer school hols) vs mid season. Agree with the above comments - check what it comes with too
