marquee flooring...help needed!!!

natsastar, 29 March, 2012 at 17:03 Posted on Planning 0 3

We are having a marquee on a field/massive bit of grass area and are struggling for the floor. the wedding is booked for the 15 june 2013 so not until next year but we are struggling for flooring. we need to have something down just in case it does rain (fingers crossed that it doesnt obviously!) but havent a clue what! ideas are:- coconut matting, carpet, foam tile things...

Is anyone else having a marquee? Any help appreciated as to what we can use for the floor! or the more important question where on earth we can buy something like this from.. tried gala tent and they are coming in at £300 for floor but its only going to be used for one day and ideally we wanted something a little bit cheaper.

any help appreciated ?

Doesn't your marquee company offer flooring? I've been to loads of marquee weddings (farming family!) and I've seen carpet flooring and laminate style flooring, but it's always come directly from the marquee company.

Are you hiring the marquee? Does the marquee company hire flooring?

We have having are marquee on our land. Most marquee companies use either the cheapest option of rubber-backed carpet straight onto the grass, or next cheapest with is roll out rubber flooring like below, then carpet.

We are having the rubber roll out flooring, then wooden pallets to raise the floor from the ground slightly and create a solid 'indoor feeling' floor and then carpet. But that is costing £800 for hire.

Not sure hat else to use. Loads of tarpaulin!?
