Married in uk or Abroad

Hi guys! Me and my partner have booked our wedding for next year in the UK however, I feel like it’s just getting so pricey and I have never wanted ‘the big wedding’ but both families are so big so it’s turning into a massive wedding. I also feel like I’m starting to care too much about everyone else and making it a good day. I’m starting to rethink it all, I’m thinking about just me and him and the baby going abroad and doing it there, who ever wants to come can come. Has anyone else done a wedding abroad with just the two of you? Was it lonely in the night having no one there celebrating with you both??
