What? Did you think it was going to be black pvc with peep holes? ?
Well I am wearing German Jack boots and a military dress whites cap with it
I was going to go for this one:
I may still go for it, but I'd have to get a similar one tailor made because Maggie Sottero stopped doing it. No idea why, there's a big demand for it.
Lannyb... Yep I got it from Adore, Lovely shop and the staff were so nice! The dress was so cheap and under my budget I added buttons to the back to cover the zip and they are going to add a short train. I tried on a few others but as soon as I put this one on I just felt 'YES' this is it!
So I have over a year to not cheat on my dress with any other dresses....!
here is the one i want - it's a mori lee dress... wonder if anyone knows the name of it?? would like to know so i could search for it in other shops xx
The cap isn't entirely serious, my bridesmaids will be in black and red coldstream guards caps. The german jack boots are entirely serious. I'm a military collector. I have never been comfortable or confident in heels, and I don't often wear dresses. So if I'm to wear a dress, I'm having comfortable feet. I prefer the look of the german jack boots to others. That's just my asthetic preference.
I'm arriving in an american military half-track, I doubt my shoes will be a talking point! Ha ha.
Haha I'm fairly certain this forum is to ask and tell
My bridesmaids are probably going to be in black pencil skirts, with satin, long-sleeve blouses (not decided on the colour). They'll probably have on military officer caps.
My OH hasn't decided. He's either going to be in tails, or WW1 German tunic - which looks nothing like people think it does. It looks like this:
of course, I just felt I was asking you lots of questions in a slightly stakerish way!
wow, thats going to be quite a look, I want to say "foxy" without a sense of irony but I don't think I can . Fabulous. I love it, even if its not what I would choose myself.
I'm dreading what his head usher is turning up in. The head usher is a very close friend of ours, and his fascination for military clothing is even bigger than mine, if only because he can actually afford the stuff.
I suspected he will be suited to the top, complete with sword and sheath.
I totally agree - beautiful dramatic dress. What is the name of i and what size do you need? I'm sure Hitchers will keep an eye out for you on their own dress hunts.
I;ve really enjoyed nosying on here at everyone's dresses. I've seen my 'almost nearly' dress crop up more than once. Still in love with mine and like that it's not overly popular:
Here's the model (too skinny for my liking)
...and no me in the dress (sorry I'm not really looking at the camera):
