I wonder this about lace dresses too as they seem to be getting more and more popular too.
MrsLong - Thankyou, I love it too - I ordered it months ago but still can't stop looking at it!! It's Maggie Sottero Emma - it looks slightly different on the Maggie website as it's in the light gold there - this is the ivory.
Think I may have posted the model pics ages ago, but here's mine anyway, albeit a bit crumpled by the time I had bundled in and out of the car, sat twice in church and knelt down twice! ...
Maybe it will just go back to a previous trend?! The good thing though is there is so much choice of styles these days that there's still a fair bit of variety to choose from.
MWAH - your dress looks gorgeous! A fellow Maggie bride - I love her dresses!
I specifically didn't want a tea length dress when I started looking; I didn't think they would suit me at all.
Lo and behold, I ended up with a tea length dress! It wasn't even the most flattering / slimming cut, but it just suited me best.
And I agree with what others have said about the freedom of having one; it was quite refreshing to feel the breeze blowing around my legs at my last fitting in 30+ degree heat!
The seamstress commented on how much she liked the dress, but the shop only sold one other in the tea length. The shop lady said that most brides still want the big full-length dress thing when they think 'wedding'.
I don't care if it looks dated. I probably won't look at my wedding pics years down the line; I HATE how I look in photos!!
Mini - I know what you mean about tea lengths - I do think they'll become less popular again in a few years but I think they've stood the test of time so won't ever look 'old fashioned'.
My dress was the only tea length I tried on so I definitely wasn't on the look out for one. There was just something about mine!
Annie I LOVE that, adore all those style of Lou Lou dresses (never did I think I'd be able to identify who a dress was by!) I am hoping to track down a LB26 to try, very similar to yours but with sleeves ?
Mine on the model, its a horrendous picture as the image on the website is small, i might get a picture tomorrow of it on me if mum will let me... she thinks i might show the whole world (shes right, im in love with it!)
Lovely to see everyone's dresses, so many different styles! Got no idea how to flash, can I do it on a phone? Haven't looked through all the pages but haven't seen mine yet - it's Kelsey by So Sassi.
ATB, The shop I got mine from didn't have LB26 but they had the sleeves which they pinned to my dress, it's lovely with the sleeves, such a hard decision! It seems Lou Lou can do anything, I could have made my one into tea length, i could adjust the train length, add buttons, sleeves... So maybe try and find somewhere that stocks my one, (LB19) they might do the same.
Its so lovely to see so many beautiful dresses and ladies!
I am currently having a dress wobble, I bought my dress so long ago I cant remember (its 2nd hand - in that it has been worn by models) It was too big and has now been altered, I's scared that my hips look huge in it and would really value an honest opinion (As I never like photos of myself)
(FYI not sure if I will wear the bolero as it had lost all its shape, it has been altered superbly but still not sure its quite perfect)
The actual dress is champagne
The cat in the last pic is not real lol, I was a bit worried when I went in to the house of the lady who is altering the dress!
I know my wedding's have been and gone, but I never wanted to flash my dress as right up until the morning I really went off the dress. On the day though, it suddenly felt right
Aww thanks, even with a pink splodge on my face! I have been having major wobbles but I haven't tried it on since around May time and don't see it again until 2 days before the wedding so getting nervous!
Smudge - your hips look far from huge! The skirt skims your hips nicely and shows off your waist really well. It's a lovely shape and very flattering ?
Here's mine, I meant to lose so much more weight before first fitting (next week) hasn't happened but hey, I still love my frock!! Can't wait to wear that baby all day long ?
