Yep! I'd been to a few shops in Colchester but nothing gave me the 'wow'. I went to school in Witham and always went past the shop admiring the gowns in the window. Now it's my turn to wear one from there. I love it, actually makes me look slim too which is handy :-)
Aw thanks Pugsley. Its lovely & light so will travel well too. we fly on 7th November & get married on the 11th. We have our evening reception back home on 30th November so I get to wear it twice
Yay I have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and have now chosen my dress after months of searching so I can join in! I don't have a photo of me in it yet but here it is on a model...
Oh wow how exciting! I love your idea of having the back filled in, I'd love to see how that looks! I was so sure I didn't want a backless dress so I wasn't even going to try this one on but my Mum convinced me to just try it and I absolutely loved it.
I completely agree it looks better on a real person, these pictures really hardly even look how I remember it!
I have also added this Pronovias belt to mine because I felt like it was more flattering on me and gave me more of a waist...
My back gets back with red angry acne and i have a number of scars - so backless was never an option. Feel like I am putting lots of faith in the seamstress/shop but they ave assured me it can be done!
i am putting a belt with mine too, although I haven't chosen one yet - tried a beautiful one on in the shop and it makes all the difference - I didn't even think I liked bling! ooooo you have got me all excited again, cannot wait to see your flashes in it as you edge closer to the big day!
I think the lace back sounds lovely, I'm sure they will do a good job, they do it for a living so they must know what can be done I reckon.
I think the belt made me like the back of the dress more too because the lady in the shop tied it in a big bow so it looked really feminine and added more interest to the back. And I will be having my hair down, its quite long so that will cover up a lot of my back too.
I've started to think about stuff in my hair now, I originally thought I would have a sparkly head piece to one side maybe that matched my belt but I felt so feminine and pretty in the dress I might go for flowers in my hair to give a softer feel.
I bought my wedding dress on Saturday. I was with my MOH and another BM and we worked out I've tried on 32 dresses before finding this one!!! A little obsessive maybe?? Here goes!! Its on the model though, I havent got any of me in it on my phone.
The bow on the back isnt happening though. Not keen on that.
Hope you all like it!! Its pretty much the same as the Pronovias one I set my heart on, but came in at a fraction of the price!!
This is my dress, it's currently in the FMIL house awaiting collection for cleaning (ex sample) then it will stay there until this time next year when I'll take it for alterations
Yeah, first flash iof my dress! Very exciting that I can finally join in! In real life it's got a huge skirt and train but you can't really see in the model pic, and the skirt is very sparkly with a under layer of sliver glitter on the tulle that shines through! Xx
I love this thread, thanks for bumping! It's soooo nice to see real people in dresses rather than stick thin models! It's proving that dresses look different on different people! I'm going shopping on friday and I'm just going to try anything on!
Without the straps and with a nice belt to add abit of sparkle. I have got a photo of me in it but its on my Iphone and I dont know how to get them on the laptop
