Matt or silk paint?

We've just moved and repainted everywhere...with matt.

All our rooms are matt. H repainted our bathroom yesterday - again with matt. I'm not a fan of silk it has to be said (other than clothes!)

If you have uneven walls choose matt.

If you have children/animals choose silk.

I prefer matt completely. Silk shows off any uneven brush/roller strokes, and is less good at toning down imperfections in the plaster work. Matt is also much easier to touch up, as the pain strokes blend into each other so much better.

Matt everywhere for me (apart from woodwork, which has to be glossy, glossy white)... I live in a traditional Georgian townhouse, in which silk paint would look hugely out of place.

I'm going to go against the majority and vote for silk, I find it reflects light better in my lacking in natural light house. We only have matt in the living room, which gets the most light

Neither. Silk is too shiny and matt marks easily. Go for satin. It's somewhere between the two.

The two colours I have chosen, gentle yellow for the hall and pale gold for living room are both Crown and they do a mid sheen which I suppose is between matt and silk?
