Men's suit hire - high street recommendations?

Have you got a Slater's Menware near you? Can highly recommend them - my OH's suit, waistcoat & shirt was £84 so should fit in your budget

Burtons? They do groom goes free when you book a certain number of suits. Debenhams? We've gone with a local tailor who does suit rental and it's costing us £94.50 each, he was amazing when we were choosing our suits whereas our local Burtons said they could order in a suit for my OH to try but if it didn't fit or we didn't like it, we'd have to pay to order in other items.

Hello. I had the Moss Bros thread and have done a bit more research as people's experiences didn't sound great. We don't have a Slaters near us. I have found Youngs do suit hire for a reasonable price. We're going to have a look at them tomorrow so I'll update you on their service etc then.

Don't know if this helps but we actually bought our suits in matalan! They are great quality and was £70 for trousers and jacket and £90 to include a waistcoat. Also as we were buying them we asked the men to contribute £35 as they will then be able to keep it.

We really highly recommend Slaters. The service is amazing. OH hasn't hired from there, but he bought two suits for £150 and they were excellent. My Dad's a bit of a snob about suits, and even he was amazed at the quality and tailoring for the price. If you buy from there, they do free alterations to make sure you get a perfect fit. We're planning on asking the lads to wear their own suits, but if we hire then we'll definitely use Slaters.

We went to Youngs this morning and they had exactly what H2B was after. If there are 5+ the groom goes free and the suits (H2B wants navy tails) were £90 each so much cheaper than Moss Bross. You also get the suits 6 days before the wedding, rather than the 2 days before that MB does. I like that extra bit of leeway.

Thanks all for your suggestions - we're going to look into a few, Youngs and Slaters both sound like they come with good recommendations!

First time around used Debenhams hire. This time H2B has bought a suit from an independent menswear store.

We looked at MB and Debdenhams at the weekend. Apparently MB are going up in price today. They are already really expensive!
We actually preferred the Debenhams one. At £108 per suit, its' a lot of money but still cheaper than MB and they had different sizes in store. MB did not have any short jackets in, my partner looked ridulous in the oversized jacket he had to try on. Don't know how we can be expected to make a decision when we had no idea how it would fit.
