Menu options - how do i make it a mandatory field?

Rebecca, 5 February, 2024 at 19:51 Posted on Feedback to Hitched 1 4
Hi,
We’re creating generic menu options i.e. meat/vegetarian/vegan in the wedding breakfast section to ensure people provide menu choices. However, there doesn’t seem to be a way to make it mandatory or apply logic so that ‘if yes, require item selection’ in drop down menu. Can you help, please?

Bumping to say I don't think this is possible but it really should be - we just had our first guest RSVP without picking a menu!

As a workaround I've added a note to the RSVP page to say (in polite terms) if they don't pick one they'll get what they're given. The first guest will get the courtesy of us reaching out to check, but now the note is up everyone else is on their own!

    Hello!

It sounds like you're trying to ensure guests select their menu choices for the wedding breakfast, but you're facing some limitations with the system you're using. One workaround could be to add a note on the RSVP page, politely requesting guests to select their menu choice and informing them that if they don't, they will be assigned a default option.

Great post, Rebecca! To make the menu option mandatory, you can add custom validation or use JavaScript to enforce the selection before submission. If you're looking to improve your site's online presence, link building Australia services can help boost your site's authority and visibility.

I would work on the basis that anyone who has a genuine dietary requirement will definitely be communicating it! If someone can't be bothered to tell you that they have a dietary restriction, then it probably means they are not too fussed about it.
