Military wedding - table names? Suggestions?

My hubby is in the Navy and we named our table after famous sailors and pirates and had cartoon pictures on the table! His mates tought it was funny to be sat on the popeye table and we got some really cute pics! Not sure if you could do a similar thing with the army?

Heya what about differnt regiments or different historical military leaders Wellington, napolian, etc

I'm having a nautical theme to our wedding so all of my tables will be named after ships. We've stuck to ships that are famous for discovery or exploration rather than military ships, and I know another wedding at the same venue as us is naming theirs all after White Star Line cruise ships. There are some fab names, and some really interesting tales behind the ships. We're going to place a fact about each ship on evry table and set the kids off on a little fact hunt to keep them entertained.

I've let my OH have his way on table names and he's come up with his Bradford City dream team lol

We're making Top Trumps cards for our place names and so the table names will be an oversized Top Trump card with a little fact and then stats about goals etc. I think it's a good thing to let your OH have charge of - it won't affect your enjoyment of the day at all and he thinks he's getting something really important input ?

How about places that mean something to both of you either separately or jointly?

OH was going through the different types of transport he has been on - I don't know the names now but X helicopter, Y helicopter. We worked out that in the next 12 months he will be taking approx 35 different flights, so that could be an idea.
