Mixed colour Bridesmaid dresses

Robyn Amos, 9 March, 2022 at 20:32 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 11
Hi LadiesđŸ¥°
Question- I have two lovely colours that I like. I have a maid of honour, who is in her 40’s, two 14 year olds as bridesmaid and then my 8 year old. I was thinking of having the maid of honour in a different colour to the Two younger bridesmaids and then the 8 year old in ivory. Would that look silly? So the
MOH would be in sageBridesmaids in BlushFlower girl ivory
Thank youđŸ¤—

Aww thank you. I just think as MOH is a little bit older, she’d feel more comfortable not dressed like the younger ones. Thinking maybe all the same style dress but different colours đŸ¤”x

I agree. I have pastel rainbow so my older MOH and BM are in pastel green and blue them little ones are ivory with coloured sash and petals as per the pic below. You do what you want, we have faced some criticism but I don't care, I want colour and the kids love their dresses!

I’m having a statement bow and drawstring bag made to go with my youngsters ivory dress which will match the grooms pocket square and tie. I’m just worried it’s to much x

I think it's becoming more common to have the MOH in a different shade/colour to the rest of the bridesmaid to signify her position. And flower girl in ivory is a classic choice for a reason Smiley smile

I think as long as you use the colours of both the MOH and bridesmaids dresses somewhere else in your decor it'll all tie in beautifully and make it really clear that they are the wedding colours. Sage and blush will look lovely together - it could even be as simple as flowers with more of a sage green foliage and blush florals to tie it together Smiley smile

I'm now only having two bridesmaids, and not specifying one or the other as MOH, but both will be wearing different colours with matching shawls, as I'm going for autumn colours, so there will be a burgundy and a burnt orange.

Personally I think different colours for bridesmaids is a fantastic idea, but I would probably avoid any matching at all in your situation, and have the two younger bridesmaids in different but toning colours too, as this can be very effective and pretty. If you want the MOH to stand out particularly, you could maybe give her a stand out accessory?

Not weird at all! Sage for MOH, blush for bridesmaids and ivory for flower girl is so soft and cohesive. It flatters all ages perfectly and has lovely layers. The palette is gorgeous for your wedding, check https://www.azazie.com/all/bridesmaid-dresses for these pretty hues
