Monkey Island Hotel???

My wedding is here in 4 weeks so then I can let you know. But I knew when I first went to the island that this is where I will have my wedding.

Not sure, I'm going to see what availability they have at Monkey Island Hotel and find out when my dress is going to arrive.

I've not been there for a wedding, but I've been to a corporate event there that was lovely. Great venue

Would you guys say it was worth travelling all the way from Manchester for?

We booked ours 18 months in advance because the get very busy especially during the summer. But good luck, I will try and post a few flashes from the day so you can have a look.

I think it is worth it plus the hotel is on grounds as well.

We had our wedding reception here in June, and it was amazing - if we had to plan our wedding again, we'd still pick Monkey Island. The venue is so unique, watching the boats float past and the peacocks wander around really added something to our day we felt.

During the planning I wasn't filled with confidence, they made some sloppy mistakes like getting our wedding date incorrect on our contract and telling us we could try the veggie option but at our tasting they told us we couldn't. But on the day they absolutely pulled it out of the bag - everything went perfectly and the friendly, helpful staff were fab.

Whether it's worth travelling to Manchester for is really up to you - it was 45mins drive from where we live now, but it's between our childhood homes. Lots of our friends and family travelled from all around the UK though. I'm sure there are lots of other lovely venues closer to Manchester, but I'm not sure if any of them are on an island with peacocks, a pretty footbridge and give you the opportunity to do this on your wedding day!

Sorry, I don't know anything about Monkey Island Hotel but it sounds quite unique which I think is almost always worth travelling for!

my favorite was Escape from 'Monkey Island' where he gets engaged but his fiance turns to stone and he has to get off the island and get to another island to find an uncursed giant diamond engagement ring to bring her back to life
