Morning after "Sexy" wedding photos. Would you?

Sam&Louise, 28 August, 2012 at 11:35 Posted on Planning 0 34

?

I've just seen this: /articles/472889/morningafter-photos-latest-sexy-wedding-trend

"The new hot trend in wedding photography, according to the New York Daily News, is "sexy" photos taken of the happy couple on the morning after their wedding night"

"The wedding photographer comes into the pair's home, honeymoon suite, or wherever they spent their first night together as a married couple to capture the rumpled, unmade bed, and the bride and groom in various stages of intimacy and undress"

Oh dear. Not for me! How about you?

I quite like some of the photos from this article about it https://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/morning-a-wedding-album-a-spin-article-1.1141548

They are very artistic and I guess that its not different to having a boudoir shoot together but as said before who looks fresh and comfortable with having their photo taken with a hangover. Apart from this couple ?

Haha I looked like a cave woman who had been electrocuted the morning after wedding. OH had to lay in bed a while longer as his head was spinning. If we had those pictures taken we would look anything but sexy.

I also think that 'area' of you life is private and rightly so. It's something special shared between you and your partner, not with a photographer or the family album.

Haha, I imagine mine would end up being me, bleary-eyed and squinty, make-up rubbed all over my face, one arm flopped over the side of the bed and a bucket by the side. Which isn't that attractive, TBH!

I think the couple in the examples look good, but I would bet anything you like they weren't exactly taken 'the morning after'. Who looks that fresh after one of the most exhausting days of your life?! Not for me. Bet they had eaten, showered, got make up on and hair done before posing. The whole thing seems weird. I found it weird that the TOG wanted a snap of me and OH just kissing on the bridal bed, let alone anything else. Yuck.

    Not in a million.

Besides, who would you show them to or want to look at them or where would you display them? Facebook album anyone?

Someone suggests showing it to their children when they are old enough...They will never be old enough to be subjected to this horror.

I think the 'beloved' pre-wedding shoot is a sweet idea if you can afford it, and in my opinion is intimate enough as the aim is to expose your emotions for each other in front of a photographer. What does being naked and pretending to have sex add to this? I would prefer to have some (normal) photos taken on the anniversary to capture how the love between a couple has developed over the year/s. Safe to say I won't be suggesting this to OH.

Ew no, I'm sorry but I'm far from glamourous the morning after a party let alone what I'll probably be like on my day after wedding morning. I'm struggling to cope with the thought of having to face everyone for a morning breakfast as we're all in a hotel. My dad keeps saying what a nice idea it'll be but knowing what I'm like after a tiring day that involves alcohol I can imagine it would be anything but nice!

Let alone some person asking me to do sexy poses with my hubby (ooooo that's exciting he'll be my hubby!) whilst they snap it.....just no!

No way! Especially after all the busy build up and lots of people the day before, surely most people would prefer a quiet morning together?!

Can you imagine the togs packages?

Guests arrive - cake cutting £***

    Ceremony - first dance £****

    Bridal preparations - foreplay £****

    No thanks!

It's about as on trend as having the 'first glance' shots. (Where there is a mini shoot with the bride and groom an hour or so before she steps down the aisle).

Like they don't have enough to do on the day already. Doh.

So we're going to get hair and makeup in again the following day? Pfft.

Rather glad to see the initial responses were the same as mine!

Personally, I wouldn't want to shoot one, so fingers crossed we're never asked.

I think it's a bit cringe to be honest- and as others have said, some things are private and rightly so.

The first look though, I do like. I'm a big fan of those and we'll definitely be having one ourselves.

I thought photography was meant to be about capturing the day, when did it became all about pretending to be on a photo shoot for a wedding magazine?!

It's seriously tacky!! No way would I ever have it done and I'd never want to see the photos if my friends did it!!! It's vanity gone nuts.

I like the idea of a boudoir shoot and giving the pics to hubby to be on the morning of wedding day (although it sounds vain!)... But i think that a morning after the night before photo shoot will just come across as bad taste and tacky imo.

Another thing - assuming you've paid in advance for the photos, and know the photographer will be coming round, you have added pressure of "having" to do it that night. Or if not, the stress of having to pretend you have! Not what you need really.

We didn't do anything except sleep after our wedding. I would have hated knowing there was that added pressure. As it was, the cliche of "wedding night sex" didn't appeal to me, so we deliberately didn't, but made up for it the next day as we started our honeymoon.

    Good. Grief. No.

Have to say I enjoyed some of the comments on that article though - hilarious. Especially the one from the woman who's husband was a photographer and she caught him in bed with the bride and groom!?! WTH?! Who are these people!?!?!
