Morning ceremony

When you mean speech, do you mean the celebrant who officially marries you? There are a number of ways. The cheapest I believe is to have a very small ceremony at the registry office with only 2 witnesses. I think you can do this for under £100. You can also have a larger registry office ceremony, officiated by the registrar or get married in a church officiated by a priest which will cost probably several hundred pounds. Alternatively, you can book a venue licensed to hold ceremonies and then book the registrar to come to your place of marriage but that will be several hundred pounds too.

In the UK you can't just have your friend officiate the wedding. To keep costs low you could as suggested above do the official wedding with just two witnesses at the the registry office and then later on celebrate your wedding at a venue of your choice and ask a friend to 'officiate' as a 'mock' ceremony in front of your guests. This means that you will have done the legal side of things at the registry office but still have a celebration with your family and friends.

I was planning to do my register marriage on the different actual day(wedding breakfast/evening reception) . Register marriage I will do it in register office and the evening reception / wedding breakfast will be another day . Hi Wendy,

You can do registry office on a different day. That's the legal official side of things. You can celebrate your wedding any day you want. However, to be legally married, you will need a registrar or a priest to marry you.
