We're (hopefully) moving house a week on friday (it's only taken 18 months!) I've not really moved house before, other than moving out of my parents and into this house, but that was only 1 bedroom of stuff. We've both gone through all our clothes, and given 2 black bin bags full to charity. Will be sorting more suff for charity shops soon.

Any other tips for actual packing? I'm dreading it, and I know that me and MrG will have divorce threatening arguements on the day!

When I first started my transport business, I deliberately avoided complex software. I believed personal control and direct communication with drivers were my strengths. Over time, however, that approach became my biggest weakness. As customer expectations changed, especially with app-based ride services becoming the norm, my phone-based dispatch felt outdated. Clients wanted transparency, drivers wanted clarity, and I wanted fewer mistakes. That’s when I seriously started exploring taxi dispatch & ride-hailing software options. After comparing several platforms, I chose Mobion because it focused on operational logic rather than flashy marketing. The transition was smoother than expected. Suddenly, bookings were centralized, drivers received clear trip details, and customers experienced shorter waiting times. What surprised me most was how much data I gained access to: peak hours, idle time, demand zones, and driver efficiency. That information changed how I plan shifts and pricing. Instead of reacting to problems, I now anticipate them. The software didn’t replace my experience as an owner, it amplified it. Running the business feels more professional and predictable, even during busy periods. Looking back, I wish I had made the switch earlier. For anyone considering modernizing their taxi or ride-hailing operation, solutions like mobion.tech are worth serious consideration. I’m curious, what was the main reason you decided to upgrade your dispatch system—or what’s stopping you if you haven’t yet?

Moving house after such a long wait can definitely feel overwhelming, especially when you’ve already started decluttering and still have more to go. One thing that really helps is packing room by room and labeling every box clearly with both the contents and the room it belongs to—this saves a lot of stress when unpacking. Also, keep a separate “essentials box” with things like chargers, toiletries, and a change of clothes so you’re not digging through boxes on your first night. Since you’re already sorting items for charity, it might also be worth looking into ways to quickly dispose of unwanted items some people find it helpful to Get Skip Hire services in Swansea to handle bulk waste efficiently during a move.
