Well after lots of mixed reviews, i am absolutely over the moon with my dresses from the Birmingham lady!

Here is a flash of the dress and also one of the dresses on my bridesmaids. The dresses are great quality and very well made and the perfect colour, they also arrived after only 2 weeks - i was told a 6 week delivery time!

As others have said, her communication is definately not her strong point but she has done a really good job for me! ?

I’ve ordered mine through her ebay account. I emailed her a couple of times but didn’t get a reply. The only time she’s emailed me is to ask for the measurements (as my bridesmaids took a few days to get them to me) but she was really nice in her emails. Hopefully the dresses will be OK. I paid £39.99 each.

Just letting you know that my 2 turquoise bridesmaid dresses arrived today and I am really, really happy with them.

I was a little worried about the colour, in case it was too bright and harsh being turquoise but it is perfect. The quality is there, the material is good, it's lined. What more could I ask for for £39.99 per dress?!

I didnt hear a word from the seller, only to ask for my measurements. But when the dresses have arrived, I'm more than happy.

My bridesmaid dresses both came from the Birmingham Dress Lady & if you look at these photos you would never say that they cost the princely sum of £45 each! Sorry, I couldn't find a pic without the bouquet in the way but I think they were fab. We did have a slight colour issue first time round but they sorted out new dresses for us which were perfect.

I have my 2 dresses from her too. We went to Birmingham too look at sample materials and colours and took a picture of the dress that we liked. She measured my BMs there and then and made them for £70 each. Delivery was only £6.50 or I could have gone back to collect. They are great quality and fit really well. Fantastic, would definitely recommend as long as you have plenty of time to wait for them to be made :-)

This is one of my bridesmaid dresses. Unfortunatley, it's 4 inches too short. I've emailed the seller so hopefully it'll get resolved. I sent measurements for 57" in length but it's 53" Smiley sad

Length is often taken from the nape of the neck to the floor, I may be wrong but that might be what has happened.

It said from “shoulder to hem over bust” which is what my mum did. My other bridesmaids is fine, apart from being too big on her bust but this is easy to resolve. I’ve just read on her ebay page that they don’t accept returns on custom made dresses so I’m not holding out much hope.

If she's made a mistake then she should rectify it I would have thought that "no returns" means not returns if you just change your mind. If it's through ebay then you can open a dispute due to item not as described or something like that. good luck

I’ve had a reply. I’m not eligible for an exchange or a refund as they are custom made. I gave them measurements from shoulder to hem (as they asked for) and not bust to hem (which they didn’t ask for) so they made the dress in proportion. Which is wrong and doesn’t make sense really as they’ve made the other dress to the correct measurements and that is fine. I’m gutted, I know it’s only £40 but when I’m on a tight budget it’s a lot.

    Just be careful ladies.

Hi, not sure if this will help but has the bottom on the dress got a hem? I went to a dressmaker to have one of mine taken up slightly and she said there was lots of extra material on the hem for alterations so was easy to take up or in. If there is a hem, then taking it down may be an option? Hope you get them sorted xx

Thanks everyone - I'll check the hem tonight.

I daren't open a dispute as I need to order another off her to replace this one Smiley sad I'll see what happens now. I'll try and sell it on ebay unless anyone on here wants one size 8 turquoise dress!!
