my delicious toffee apple favours! practise flash!

tinkerbelly1983, 3 October, 2011 at 20:50 Posted on Planning 0 13

Omnomnom i did a small trial run of toffee apples that we are making for our favours. after about half an hour stood over a pan of boiling sugar we have... ta-daaaah!

3 ludicrously tasty crunchy apples! they were so yum we ate all 3! my oh had never had one before and he loved it. they are a little untidy and theyll have wooden sticks in them, not forks lol!

These look great Tinkerbelly. Are you going to wrap them in plastic, and decorate the plastic too with the guests names?

That ^^ sounds perfect!! A little tip for you when boiling sugar for dipping; if you add a tablespoon of glucose to it it will prevent it from crystallising so you'll be able to do more apples out of one batch of toffee ?

In my humble opinion Cox's apples have the best flavour, and a great Autumnal colour too ?

Yup those are the ones ? Cox's Orange Pippins in particular are the best flavour and colourwise. To check if they are perfectly ripe shake them and you'll hear the pips rattling inside ?

I had toffee apples at my candy table a few weeks ago. The kids and adults loved them! Lots of sticky faces about :-)
