my husband hasn't eaten for nearly a week - update.

This isn't good is it? He came home from work last thursday ill - really sore throat - and hasn't eaten anything at all since last thursday morning which would have been 3 weetabix.

He doesn't work Fridays at the moment but he didn't try to get a docs appointment - he has made one now but it is for tomorrow evening.

I feel quite scared by it - he won't tell me how he is feeling - just that he isn't hungry. He is really skinny at the best of times - he can't afford days without food ☹️

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

he has glandular fever and an infected throat. He is now taking antibiotics and is eating a tiny bit when he fancies it - seems a bit perkier today and has painted the hallway ? so hopefully is feeling more himself.

just hope i don't get it now.....

Is he drinking plenty of fluids? Would he manage a cup of warm soup like cream of tomato?

He is drinking tea and coffee - nothing else. He won't eat soup [is a stupidly fussy eater at the best of times] doubt he would drink complan etc. I suggested weetabix at night as it can be pretty mushy - he won't entertain the idea.

I even asked his mum to have a word ? she rings him every night to ask whether he has eaten.....

he is going to work - doing a manual type job which makes me more concerned. Just got to hope that the doctor tells him to eat tomorrow i think

Poor Mr Swampy, I hope the doctor sorts him out tomorrow, is he throat still very sore? Perhaps some veg soup might help, easy to eat and very good for you. Generally manages to perk Mr Dooby up when he's under the weather.

    ? to you both

That does sound a bit worrying, I'm surprised he has any energy to do his manual job. Mind you my H is like that in a way, he won't eat all day as he'd rather just get his jobs done, but he'll eat in the evening.

I hope the doctor sorts him out tomorrow and he'll be back to his normal self soon. ?

That must be really worrying. Would he drink hot chocolate? You could make it with full fat milk. Hope that the doctor can help.

That's worrying ☹️ I know how stressed I get when Mr G doesn't eat for a whole shift!

Hope he gets sorted soon, maybe when he can't do his job properly tomorrow he'll realise that soup is better than nothing.
