I think one of my colleagues may be but I'd be afraid to ask him about it.

If somebody is one could they explain the attraction (I know they say it's about being as nature intended).

If you go by British cinema listings in the 1950s, there was a phenomenal mass outbreak of naturism, which then mysteriously died out. That's because the British Board of Film Censors (as it then was) decided to be progressive and forward-thinking by passing a single, entirely serious documentary about naturism - and were then forced to pass a huge number of similar titles once opportunist types jumped on the bandwagon.

There's a wonderful quote in an equally wonderful book (not least for its amazing social history), 'Doing Rude Things: The History of the British Sex Film' by David McGillivray that reads:

There cannot have been one sane adult in the country who believed these films were being made for the delectation of the sun worshipper, yet producers had to maintain this pretence at all costs for fear of being refused a certificate

My parents always wandered about in the nude in the morning. My mum got caught by the postman one day!!! H and I sleep in the nude, we don't have any issues with being nekkid round the house either. Except when he doorbell goes and we look at each other in panic and say 'You get it!' I'd love to have a secluded garden where we could frolic around outside and get up to naughtiness.

There's a naturist club on Loch Lomond on one of the islands. They're currently looking for new members. I just can't get past the idea of all the midges!

I think it might be genetic - I come from a long line of wandering-naked-at-home men. My brother used to greet house guests with nothing more than a tennis racket to cover his modesty.

Hang out with your wang out I say.

I am frequently naked at home - also have done the beaches and 'holiday camps' and found it perfectly liberating - no oggling went on...however I amy have been more comfortable with it as I was slim (am now well and truely up the duff) and quite a bit younger than the majority of people there.

One thing I found a little odd...in some naturist communities they are very anti tattoos and piercing's - to the extent that at some places if you have them your not allowed in!!!!

I am naked most of the time at home, I sleep naked and tend to walk about that way as well. Again, I don't tend to go near windows etc, but the window cleaner did once get an eyeful. I don't think I would specifically go to social gatherings. We have been on a naked beach though.

    Great thread.

My parents were always wondering round nekkid when I was younger. I used to bathe with them too, and remember being really upset when my Mum said I couldn't bath with my Dad anymore :-(

I am always nekkid at home. The first thing I do when I get home is take off my clothes and pour a glass of wine. I feel liberated in a way. My non-boyfriend also likes to be nekkid. We cooked a full on meal in the buff and it was great. Apart from the hot fat splashes from the deep fried brie - ouch!
