Need advice??? English wedding but live in Scotland

Hi! We did this recently, and we did go and stay with a friend in England for 9 days. You have to get them to sign a letter (the registry office sends you the template) to say you've lived there for that time, and they have to give their own proof of address too to show they are the actual owner or tenant. So either you could ask one of your guests to stay (I'm sure they'd be really understanding) or theoretically you could find a sympathetic airbnb owner, or similar. Good luck

Yes, you have to! So once you're in England, you're subject to the same rules as people who normally live in England - so you give notice where you're staying, even if that's not the same place as you're getting married
