Need to cut guest list from 60 to poss 40... any advice

Do any of your guests have plus 1s which you could take off the list? If we need to reduce our wedding next year due to Covid, plus 1s will be the first off the list. Obviously it is preferable to allow people to have their partners there, but I don't know most of them well and wouldn't miss them if they weren't there (that sounds really harsh I don't mean it horribly, they are lovely people but of course friends and family will come first if we need to reduce).


Do you have anyone you have invited just because they are family friends your parents wanted there, they are work colleagues, or you were invited to their wedding years ago and you feel you should return the favour? Again it might be preferable to have these people there, but if you need to cut 20 people then family and close friends should come before work colleagues and acquaintances.

Start off with the people you can't imagine getting married without and work outwards from there. Most folk will understand given the current circumstances.
