Nervous blotchy rash ?

Ellensmummy, 28 September, 2016 at 20:18 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi ladies,

one thing that's really bothering me is the rash I get when I'm nervous. It's red and blotchy and comes up on my chest and neck. It's really obvious and I know when I walk up the aisle and for the ceremony I will get it! Does anyone have any experience of this or have any tips of how to cover? I didn't know if a light fake tan would help to tone it down a bit more?

Thanks in advance!

I'd speak to your GP- a simple anti-histamine might help or they might have a better suggestion!

What about the tinted moisturiser that takes colour out.. Isn't it green removed red? I would try the anti histamines to see if they stop the rash but try them first as they often make me fall asleep! You don't want to be face down in your meal!

I get this too and know how exactly how you feel. I really don't want to walk down the aisle with a red blotchy chest and neck especially as my dress is strapless... I should have thought about it more when choosing my dress. I am hoping that on the day it will be excitement rather than nerves and therefore not get too bad. I find if I'm hot it is worse. A light fake tan might make it less obvious. I have a redness solutions face cream which is green by clinique which has worked well with redness on my face so I might give that a go and see how it works on chest and neck.

It may be more common than you may think, I actually see this quite often and if its shows on the photo then I can usually photoshop it away, I know that doesn't help stop the guests seeing it on the day so.

I would suggest a light masking foundation, just to tone it down when it appears and you never know - just the fact that you know at least now its going to be little bit less obvious then it might even prevent it in the first place.

Ask your MUA if you have one what they suggest.

Because the nature of it is that it flares up and then goes, a permanent opposite colour may not be the best solution in this case.

I agree Bill- I'd rather have red blotches that fade than a slightly green tinge constantly!!

I think actually that perhaps the other poster may of slightly misunderstood the symptoms in that it can come and go within minutes.

As for green, it has to be said that I have also seen quite a few grooms that colour ?

As Bill says, it tends to go quite quickly once you start concentrating on the ceremony. Its a very common problem. Your photographer will be used to minimizing the appearance of it.

    Thank you everyone,

i think I'll speak to my MUA and see what she thinks. I didn't really want a fake tan so let's hope she's got a suggestion too.

The light foundation coverage sounds good it's just hard to know exactly where it will come out and I don't want to risk my dress getting covered ?

Lets hope for excitement not nerves on the day!
