Thanks - i did see the thread, and tbh, i dont fancy it ?. i feel all cook-booked out really, plus madam has placed a blanket ban on more cook books, as our kitchen island thing runneth over with books.

Aah but it's non-cook book. Memoir really, in which the first page is taken up with a ritual bonfire of all his cookery books, except Escoffier (which would certainly free up space in the old kitchen island?). But glad you saw it; I read about it in one of the papers and I think it was also a book of the week on radio 4.

(I want a kitchen island??)

I hate the word island for it, but i dont know of another word actually.
