No confetti allowed. What do you think of bubbles?

Lovely effect if the lighting is right!

Something that I have come across when looking at this is ribbon wands (quite american I think). You could DIY them and then have photos like this:

Would be more colourful than bubbles.....

Love that idea! My cousin had a bubble machine fitted to the outside of the venue - for photos I think. Unfortunately the bubbles kept getting popped by dangling ivy (or something similar) so it didn't have the full effect. I was still impressed! I think having your guests blow bubbles instead of throwing confetti would be lovely.

I've shot multiple bubble shots for both groups and the confetti exit. It works really well just get quite a lot and the photographer should know how to coordinate it

I think some types of bubble fluid can stain certain fabrics (satin, silk etc), so if you have bubbles it'd probably be best to provide them and tell your guests not to bring their own.

If we couldn't have confetti we'd have had bubbles - we might still have them for the first dance. I think they look lovely!

This is certainly an issue when some cheaper brands are purchased. I would also avoid the ones in small champagne type bottles....the wands are too small and all you get is gloop blown at you.

FWIW I have carried a bubble machine with me on some weddings.....

Also be aware that on some floors such as wood, the gloop can become very slippery......

The great thing about bubbles is the children love them, so if you have any children at your wedding you can have them chasing bubbles and know that your younger guests are happy

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone! I think we will defo go ahead with this idea now.

I think we would be doing it outside, so no worry of gloop on the floor. I was also going to put a note in the invitations that confetti is not allowed but an alternative would be provided on the day, so that I am the one who sources the right sort of bubbles that wont mark dresses
