No speeches

Elizabeth1990, 10 March, 2025 at 13:43 Posted on Etiquette and Advice 0 1
Hi all, we have decided to take out speeches and I’m unsure if this is ok or not! My partner was going to do one but has had a feeling of constant dread about it, I know he won’t feel at ease on the day and I want him to be happy and comfortable so it doesn’t bother me at all. The best man isn’t a public speaker either and my dad sadly passed away so my emotions will be running high when mentioned in the speech, so this does take some pressure off of me also. What are everyone’s thoughts on this? Thank you! Smiley smile

Sorry I have just seen this after posting an answer in your other speeches thread. But yes it seems your circumstances are exactly as my scenario in he other thread. So my advice would be to skip the other speeches and just do a joint short bride and groom thank you that may incorporate thank you gifts if you are giving any out. A joint one will take the pressure off the other half and also do them before to meal so you can both relax and enjoy the food.
