Nosey Question -What are you walking down the aisle to?

1234ABC, 20 April, 2011 at 10:18 Posted on Planning 0 57

Just wondered what everyone was planning to walk down the aisle to?

I'm having an acoustic guitar playing one of my favourite songs (Red Dirt Road by Brooks & Dunn), which has been my mobile ringtone for going on 7 or 8 years, and everyone associates it with me. Then when i walk back up the aisle as a Mrs, we're having an acoustic guitar playing Send Me on My Way by Rusted Roots.

This was our processional music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAxQ6n9dgUE

We played it from about 2 minutes in, the bridesmaids went first. At 3.08 there's a big crescendo and that's when the doors opened and I came in ?

I love that kind of music. It's one of those "hair standing on the back of your neck" moments.

I wanted this one too, but since OH heard it he wants it for when we leave the church as he says it's so happy and upbeat. So now I am looking for some new music to walk down the aisle to. We have an organist so I want some organ music - just struggling to find some!

Me too Smiley smile I have a CD with all the wedding music I need on it... my confession is that sometimes when I'm home alone I have a quick listen to the bridal march and it really cheers me up when I'm down!

Future Mrs J - I love the Wedding March too (our exit song), the music really lifts my spirits.

The vicar at my church (not the one we are marrying in) plays the wedding march at the end of every sunday service - until we were wedding planning I didn't realise what it was, but knowing just made me even more sure it was the right choice.

Haven't given one little jot of thought to music for leaving - it'll probably be something a bit random but very us

The instrumental version of 'Only Hope' from the incredibly cheesey movie 'A Walk to Remember'. Leaving to Defying Gravity by Kerry Ellis and Brian May which is a bit of a weird choice but we both love the song.

For the civil ceremony, Handel's La Rejouissance played by a string quartet. For the blessing, the Prince of Denmark's march on the chapel organ.

Wow, nice to see some non-traditional choices here.

We're arriving to Sharp Dressed Man - ZZ Top, and leaving to Sylia - Focus.

I'm walking down the aisle to 'As long as you're mine' (from Wicked, obviously), and leaving to "Defying Gravity' - Also the Kerry Ellis version.
Our first dance will be to 'Only Hope'.

I've changed my mind a good 42 times on this subject, but at the moment we are going for Love Me Tender by Elvis. We are having a bit of a rockabilly theme to our music, but thought that walking in to Tiger Army might be a bit much for the congregation Smiley smile

I haven't even thought about the registar signing music, but my aunt suggested "All I want for Christmas is you" by Mariah, but i think that's too christmassy for me. i want to try and stay away from Christmas if i can.

I think it's going to be 'Somewhere Beyond the Sea' for us. Maybe the Rod Stewart version. The words are so apt for my job. I think might have 'We have all the time in the world' as we leave.
