Not feeling excited!!!

Ana, 25 April, 2022 at 19:04 Posted on Planning 1 5
Hello beautiful brides and grooms 😊
Time is going unbelievable fast so therefore I'm getting married next week, but I'm not feeling excited at all 😔 planning the wedding wasn't what I had in mind, way too many issues and headaches, unfortunately I'm still having issues with contact lenses, they don't seem to get it right, now just found out my mom messed up my rings ( they are coming from portugal) I specifically told her my size was L- 12 in portugal and she got a size 16 😖😖😖hairdresser ghosted all her clients (including me) without a response, always had this dream of a beautiful wedding and getting so excited, I love my FH more than anything and I cannot wait to live together, but about the big day I'm not excited at all, and I cannot wait to be done with it 😔

I don't have any advice, except to give yourself a break. It sounds like a lot of things have been tough recently, but I'm sure it'll all come together on the day.
You have a week to go, which will pass before you know it, and it'll be The Big Day. I'm sure you'll be more excited on the actual day. I really hope so. If all else fails, just have fun that day and look forward to your happy future together x

I completely understand how you’re feeling! I’m getting married this weekend and I think my friends and family are more excited than me at this stage! I’m just feeling overwhelmed and like I’ve so much to think about and remember. I’m surprised cause I thought I’d be full of excitement and adrenaline and instead I just feel a bit flat and tired. I have the week off and I’m trying to use this time to relax, and I’m starting to delegate anything that’s left to others, to my OH and family. I’m hoping if I do this and take some time to step away from the nitty gritty of planning and have time to be in the moment that I’ll start to look forward to it again, I want to get that sense of anticipation and excitement back!

I should say, it does sound like you’ve had a stressful time of it! So it’s not strange you’re feeling this more than excited. When things have gone wrong for me I’ve tried to focus on what’s really important to me for the day (both is us and our friends and family being there; actually getting married and celebrating that with them; my dress!) and trying to let go of everything else being perfect. You’ve had some big things go wrong, and It’s completely understandable you’re stressed!

Can the rings be exchanged for the right size, even if it’s not in time for the wedding? For the ceremony you could get a cheap stand in, I know it’s not ideal, and while I know you’ll see it and know, others won’t. It may not feel as special as getting your “proper” ring, but you could do a special date or something with your OH when that does arrive, maybe on the 1 or 2 month anniversary of your wedding?
I hope you source a hairdresser last minute, I can understand that’s extremely frustrating, hopefully someone you contact will understand your predicament and be able to step in and save the day - is finding someone a job you can split with someone else, a trusted friend perhaps, to try and ease some of the burden on yourself?Best of luck trying to sort it all, and I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful day nonetheless and hopefully in years to come you’ll look back and laugh at everything that seemed to go wrong in the run up! X

Thank you Lizzie and natalie for your kind words.
Hope you have a fantastic day this weekend 😊
That is true everyone attending the wedding is way more excited than me 😅 after speaking with my mom, she said I can make the ring smaller as I'm travelling to Portugal in june, so that's a bit of relieve in that, contact lenses unfortunately they keep cancelling my appointments since march so I just gave up in that subject and hairdresser I found someone so that's a very good thing 😊 maybe in the day I will feel excited and not so drained like I am now.

Oh I’m so relieved for you you managed to get hairdresser sorted at least! I hope you’ll be able to relax a bit and start to get that spark of excitement back again. I’m collecting my dress today so I’m hoping that will trigger a little spark of a thrill back again!
