Not sure where to buy bridesmaid dress for young teen...

Cwtchandahalf, 17 August, 2014 at 20:30 Posted on Planning 0 6

Only have one bridesmaid, who'll be almost 12 on our wedding, so will be too big for flower girl/young bridesmaid dresses but too small for adult sizes and I've got no idea where to start looking for a dress for her! Have looked on a lot of high street sites (BHS, Tesco, Monsoon etc) and they mostly seem to be for small girls or adults. Doesn't help that I'm looking for something reasonably specific - something like this (ignore the jacket, looking for a mid pink tea dress style);

Not on a huge budget either - hoping for not much more than £50-ish if possible. Have a few months left to find something so not too urgent but I'm a bit concerned I haven't seen anything vaguely right so want to get it sorted soon. Any suggestions like high street suggestions/websites/Ebay sellers all welcome!

    I have 3 bridesmaids aged 11, and two 14 year olds and these are the dresses I have chosen for them. I was able to buy them adult sizes.

    Is your bridesmaid able to wear like size 8/10 in ladies clothes?

    This is from a website called Lindybop.co.uk and are £44.99.

    How about

    or

    either you could get a small adult size if BM can fit into an 8 or they do custom sizes so you could take measurements and do it based on that. I've not heard of the website before, but they seem to have a fair few positive reviews when you google them.

    Good luck!

    Thankyou all - hadn't thought of a small adult size, that could give far more options! An adult 6 is a tiny bit big for her at the moment but will probably be about right for the wedding, an 8 might be too big but we can always go and try some and see. The Lindybop dresses are the perfect style (was actually considering that Ophelia one for my wedding dress!) but might be a bit big and I couldn't see the right colour in their range, or in Monsoon but will keep an eye out in the new ranges and will have a good look through the missy dress site (had a quick look through, the first one you linked to would be pretty perfect, but there must be 1000's there!). Thanks for the help!

    I have the same issue. My only bridesmaid is 12. Dessy do a junior bridesmaid range but I don't really want to pay their prices! New Look have some quite pretty dresses and Debenhams have some possibilities.

    Not sure if this is any good. You might need a seamstress to take it in at the back if an 8 is too big:

    £28.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hell-Bunny-Macy-Pink-50s-Vintage-Style-Rockabilly-Swing-Party-Dress-/351123831159?pt=UK_Women_s_Vintage_Clothing&hash=item51c09c7977

    Or a dress-up dress only £17.99, but has polka dots
