Numbers attending weddings

SunnyYellowDiamonds92674, 6 June, 2021 at 20:37 Posted on Feedback to Hitched 0 2

Numbers of attending wedding in a church- i am due to get married in three weeks.

Yes aware of the covid restrictions. But warning to others as wedding is now can be up to 30 people. But check the location, as the church i am marrying. Will only allow 18 people to sit in the church, due to the size of it. They wont even budge if there is a family in a bubble. I only found out after i sent invites out for 30 people and attended the reading of the banns, that only 18 can attend in church. The church of England misleads people so check the venue for people to attend safely with covid restrictions.

Thank you, that’s a really good tip. I was planning to speak with our local church in the next couple of weeks, and that’s a small one, so I’ll make sure I ask the question!

This is an important tip for any venue. We're getting married in a register office. They didn't mention anything to us, but I found out by chance they are only allowing 10 people in the ceremony room we've booked, when they normally seat 50. And that 10 includes bride, groom and photographer! If restrictions don't lift by August we'll have to uninvite most of our guests.
