Thanks for all your kind words ladies, it's comforting knowing I have people I can (Internet) talk to.
Trying to get everything ready for next week now, its roughly 4 hours from where I live to the hospital where my grandma is =/

What are the main things everyone is trying to get done this week?
I've had to put back sorting out my invites (again)...am starting to wonder if I should create a Facebook group and be done with it all

Lui - what are your shoes like?
I found a pair that I loved and then my size went out of stock before I could buy them

I will be sure to flash my veil once I have it and I cannot recommend The Wedding Veil Shop highly enough, the lady there has answered at least 3 rambling from me trying to decide what I want!
I'll let you know how my make-up trial goes, I'm sure your hair will look gorgeous on the day, if you've had the same hairdresser for 10 years I dare say she knows you well enough to get it right. I'm going to have to find a wedding day hairdresser as the lady that's done my hair since I was 6 doesn't do special occasions or weddings as she says its too much pressure.
I've just Googled your dress and it is stunning!! Have you picked out your accessories yet?
My OH is working on the photo list for me, he's trying so hard to help now. I think he feels a bit bad for not doing much previously =/

sorry to hear about your Grandma. I understand, I'm going through the same thing, my Grandma was admitted into hospital last night.

Glad to hear your OH is helping out, I find it more exciting when my OH helps out with wedding things.

I have think i've finally found a piece of music to walk down the aisle to which i'm pleased about. that's the once piece that's been bugging me!

Ohhh sparklybear, will we get a flash of your invites? Ohhhh is there a wedding fayre at the Ricoh this weekend? I think I went to it this time last year and saw everything was pastels and vintage which wasn’t our theme so I didn’t find much.

Thats a good plan of adding in the timeline J Might have to steal that idea.

LMP – these are my shoes and I love them! Never had designer shoes before and I love these ones and can’t wait to put them on again!

When is everyone having their hair trials, need to start working out my dairy time and getting my bridesmaids together as they live in different sections of the midlands.

I'm having to grow my hair a bit before I can a trial, probably won't have one until June/July time
My MOH and bridesmaid will have theirs at the same time as we live in the same town

I don’t wish to make it worse but when i brought them they were half price because they were in a sale! I’ve had them for about 6 months now and trying not to wear them all the time in the house is so hard I had to move them to my parent’s house.

Well its between two, both my bridesmaids have friends who are good hairdressers and want to treat me to it for the wedding gift and that’s fine by me if they do as its easier for them, my hairs a decent length just don’t know when to try it in case the hair I want doesn’t suit me.

I want something like these:

That's a really nice hairstyle you've picked, I'm sure it would suit you. You could have a trial around end of March time? That would give you plenty of time to think of something else if you don't like it...

LittleMissPanda - I frequently try and hide under the desk, but it never seems to work, stuff just piles up! I also try and ignore my emails but then they are worse when i get back to them! I have got my accessories chosen for my dress, I am just having a freshwater pearl necklace, earrings and bracelet. I know some people say pearl are unlucky - but I have always wanted to get married in pearls! By mum bought them for me too! I love them so much! Other than that I am having a tiara and a veil! Im so excited about it all! My shoes are just bridal ones from BHS - i wanted some louboutins but the wedding ones I fell in love with have been discontinued, and they were expensive! Whereas the ones from BHS were £30 and will do just find! They are lace and very pretty! Are you having any jewellery/accessories?!

Lui - Yes i'll flash when they are done! The inserts should be done this weekend so i can flash those and then i'll be putting the final touches to the invitations nearly to the time of sending them. They have bows on and I dont want them getting squashed whilst waiting ot me sent! I went to the Ricoh with my MOH last year, this my OH and I are going. I just really need a cake sorting and figured they might give me a discount if I book an appointment with them on the day! I havent had my hair trial yet, but my hairdress frequently curls my hair for me, and thats how Im having it on the day! I never really wear my hair up, so it'll be odd for me to wear it up on my wedding day when i never do any other time! I was saying to LittleMissPanda earlier that I am just worried becuase I want it to be perfect and I have really thick long hair, but i have had the same hair dresser for about 10 years, so raelly i am worring over nothing!

Thats what Im thinking LMP, don’t want to do it too close, realise it doesn’t suit me and then have a short amount of time to find a new one that may suit me. I think I have been lucky your right, if not I would be spending loads on getting my hair sorted and it’s really not in the budget ☹️

Sparkly bear, that makes a lot of sense really J The cake is the one thing I never had to worry about as soon as we were engaged h2b dad said he wanted to make it and he’s pretty good so why not. I would definitely say you have nothing to worry about with your hair; you have someone that knows your hair and knows what you want so that’s really good! ?

What do you think is next on your list. Not sure what to do next now...might look at what else I can pay off hehe ?

Lui - if you really worried about your hair, have a trial sooner rather than later to elevate the stress. I'd also suggest doing some browsing on Pinterest and picking 1 or 2 back-ups just in case

Well I'm hoping that my hair will look something like this...

...so I'm hoping I can get something pretty to go above my veil, but since I haven't seen my veil yet it might a bit OTT. I'm still going to get a necklace, bracelet and some earrings anyway just in case =D

Haha I'm finding that I'm pretty much the same! Once I'd ticked all the "big" things off my list (bar invites) I wasn't sure what to do next so just started randomly buying stuff ... although I'm going to try and sort out ties for OH & his best man soon so their outfits are complete.

Definitely have a trial sooner if it will make you feel better, its one less thing to have bad dreams about then
That's not actually my hair it's just a pic I stole off Pinterest, I'm having to grow my hair so I can (hopefully) have that style
My veil is ivory and will be hip length with scattered diamantés & crystals and a rhinestone edging, am hoping its as nice as I imagine it

Lui that's so funny, I've got exactly the same hair pics on my wedding hair Pinterest board! A family friend is doing mine. He's done all the family wedding hair, is really good and is doing it for free. So glad it's one less thing I have to worry about.

Welcome AlmostMrsS :-) How's your planning coming along? When did you get engaged?

I had a fairly productive day today - registered my intent at the registry office (get the authorisation to marry form on 2nd February).

I also made a decision on table decorations. Rather than flowers we are going for circular mirrors with assorted blue glass bottles, ivory rose petals and crystal diamonds (well plastic but they look sparkly). We'll still have flowers on the top table and for bouquets. I also went to see a photographer and was very pleased that their style of photography ties in well with what we are wanting. Will sort out a deposit for him tomorrow :-)

We got engaged on Christmas Eve

Our plans are going extremely well we set our date last Sunday and paid the deposit today and also paid the deposit on the Registrar

I am also wedding dress shopping tomorrow (appointment booked for 1pm) ............. my very first time in a bridal store.

MrsFRtobe - Wow you sound very organised I'm going dress shopping tomorrow, I can't wait! I'd love to go in and find my dress, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.

We've so far booked our Church, reception venue, videographer, DJ, florist, cake and photobooth. Tomorrow we're going to meet with a woman that can provide us with a bar (there's not one at our chosen venue) and then we're meeting with a few different people about decorating the venue., we're also hoping to hear back from our photographer about a price. My biggest worry at the moment is my dress and finding it in plenty of time.

Time is flying by! It will be here before we know it

My best advice for dress shopping would be don't worry!
I'm sure you'll find your perfect wedding dress, try and have fun and also try on things that you might not normally pick ... you could be surprised ...

It is flying, I cant believe its mad-January already.

I've got some ideas, but I don't want to go in looking for a specific dress, because I think that would make shopping difficult. I like the idea of something A-line, lace and with some kind of sleeves, but I'm going to try on a range of things, just in case. Most people I speak to say they ended up buying something that was completely different to what they had in mind

Dress shopping is thing I've loved doing the most so far!

I think the best thing to do is go in with an open mind and just try on loads of different styles. I found I soon narrowed down what I liked and didn't like and what suited me and what didn't. Looking back I really enjoyed the whole experience. I love my dress and it's definitely the one but I kind of wish I could do it again!

Oh, and is it me but have some of our avatars gone? Mine is just a blank square :-/

Slightly stressful morning.

Had a call from the hotel, very apologetic as they hadn't checked the room availability before confirming the booking and now realise every room (even bridal suite) is already booked as it's the rugby world cup quarter finals that day :-/

So, our wedding date has changed - we are now getting married a week earlier on 10th October. New date confirmed with hotel and registrar.

Dont get me started on the rugby world cup!

I told my h2b the date and he ok’d it, told my family and they were fine.

Then it turned out that it was the world cup final and all i hear now is jokes about how they won’t turn up or will find a tv to watch the world cup.

Being from a family that loves rugby they really should of known the date before allowing me to confirm the wedding haha!

Oh my God, I had no idea about the rugby! I'm not really fussed about it but the flipping final is on our wedding day! Hope our guests don't like rugby. Also hope that England or Wales don't get to the final!

That’s my hope too or my family will kill me.

Oh well what’s done is done and we’ve both given everyone plenty of notice and I think this is far more important hehe.
