Stephied9384- those flowers look amazing! I love your colour scheme. We are using the same colours but also using green the arrangements. Wow you are talented.

Ah thanks so much for your nice comments on my flowers guys!! I'm so glad they'll do, really didn't fancy having another go at that ha ha!
Lui - I know what you mean. It's felt like the wedding is so far away for so long and now all of a sudden I've got to pay for all this stuff!! Going to have to look into selling a kidney or something soon...
Stephied9384 - I love your flowers, they look stunning. I wish i were that creative with flower arranging. The colours are beautiful.
Thanks all for the positive comments about the invitations and my idea to get messages of best wishes from Doctor Who stars. I'm really pleased with how the invites have turned out :-) I think h2b will love the messages too. We had a chat last night about which celebrities we would have at the wedding if we could and Tom Baker was one of his choices so I think he's going to be really chuffed at the message.
Morning all, hope everyone who is feeling grotty (and snotty!) starts to feel better really soon...
Stephied9384 I absolutely LOVE your flowers!! I'm so jealous that you were able to make those, they really are very pretty and the colours work really well. I hope your proud of yourself ... and that your poorly cut up hands heal soon If you still need a suit for your OH Moss have a great sale on atm, we got my OH's suit and his best man's suit from there and their really nice. I'm really sorry Lui but I didn't get chance to take any piccies of my dress/button last weekend, I had a whole day of doing wedding bits here there & everywhere on Saturday and Sunday I had to help my mum with my grandma's funeral. Talk about totally different days I will most definitely take the pictures this weekend, and will post or pm them to you on Monday. I'm away for the rest of this week, so can't post until I'm back at work! Picking up on the fact you mentioned a dress hanger, are you going to get one? I've been toying with the idea but not sure where to get them from...? Have also been considering getting Bride/Bridesmaid/MOH robes for the day...
I've been lurking and seeing how everyone's plans are coming along. All seems to be going well?
I feel like i've not really got much to do... or I have and i'm missing major things!
I got my dress within the last 2 weeks. That's a weight off and makes it all seem much more real!
I got my shoes this weekend
We've decided on what to put in our favour boxes (Thornton's chocolate fudge pieces)
I've made bridesmaid survival kits as well in the last couple of weeks.
I also changed our centre pieces recently. Going for crystal trees that light up (my fiancé loves things that light up!) with a couple of butterflies intertwined on each tree.
I'm a bit worried about one of my bridesmaids as she is now pregnant. She's due in July. I'm worried her dress won't fit after. I don't want her feeling under pressure to lose weight, so will happily buy new dresses if need be, but can't find any fuchsia pink dresses as back ups. And by the time I know if it fits or not (say around September) it's more out of season for that colour too. Bit of a waiting game I guess.
I'm going shopping with the BM's on the 13th so they can get their shoes and so they can meet too.
Ooh what are your dress and shoes like? Exciting times Your centrepieces sound lovely, and I like the sound of Thorton's chocolate fudge pieces for favours ... if you have any spares feel free to share :p May I ask what you've put in your bridesmaid survival kits? I was hoping to make up something similar soon. What is the back of the bridesmaid dress like? Would it possible to have it altered to a lace up back? That would give your BM a bit more leeway and might take a bit of pressure off. I've had to have one of my BM dresses altered like this. Hope you have a lovely shopping trip!!
How are you all? I've just booked a photographer. We never had one in our budget - instead we were going to rely on family to take the pictures but I stumbled across his on FB. He is just launching and has agreed for £99 - 2 hrs work, an 8 x 10 framed and all pics on a USB. I'm over the moon but in a few days the wedding has gone from being a budget registry office wedding to in the hotel where we are having our meal.
My mum is pay the registry fees ant hotel fees (near £600), my dress and my son's outfit then we're paying for food and drinks. Just have to curb my spending.
The dress I liked in BHS has been massively reduced but people I've shown it to have said its boring (eg my mum and aunt) Opinions? (without the bow, but a blingy belt)
Cheers lovely! When ever you can, no rush, I wont be making ay adjustments to my dress until September anyway as that's when it comes back in.
I think i am going to get a hanger or DIY one myself, as I would like 3 but they are super expensive, so I may buy some wooden hangers from Primark (I need more for my wardrobe anyway) and I found someone on eBay who does the decal for £1.49, may then create a tag and ribbon to go with it as I have a lot of organza from when my mum went wedding mental and brought the whole load from hobby craft!
Rebeccafcr - Sounds like you have loads done! Whats your dress and centerpieces like? Have you spoken to your bridesmaid about the dress? Like LMP said can you adjust the dress so that she can fit into it? Or she may be one of the lucky people who snap back to post baby figure within a few weeks and they do nothing! (Its happened to all my friends and I'm so jealous as I know I wont be that lucky!)
My stamp for the wax seals on the invites arrived today! So excited to get the invites sorted now! as i'm off waiting for the maintenance man to fix something in our flat I also managed to get H2B to send the inserts to the printer after having them created and sat on the home computer for almost three weeks which is annoying! Like i said yesterday I just want to put them together!
firsttimebride83 - I still think your dress is lovely, perhaps you should get it and try it on to show your mum...she might change her mind once she sees properly. It sounds like you have a real bargain with the photographer and its really nice that your mum is helping you with the registry & hotel fees, I'll bet that's taken a load off your mind I know what you mean about trying to curb spending though ?
Lui - I'll try to do the pictures this weekend otherwise I may well forget until September! Ah once again I am jealous of people's DIY skills, even blinging up a coat hanger is totally beyond me! Bless your mum for going a bit wedding organza mad Yay for your invites being sent to the printer, I know how much you've wanted them done. Fingers crossed their perfect when you put them all together ... and I totally love that stamp, it's awesome! Rebeccafcr - You should definitely be able to change the back of that dress, here is a flash of the dress my BM is wearing... (http://www.bhs.co.uk/en/bhuk/product/wedding-1020484/bridesmaid-3988957/ruby-cornflower-short-bridesmaid-dress-4153803?bi=1&ps=40)
I've been told by my seamstress that its no problem to change it, she'll take the zip out pop a panel in and then add the loops. Maybe you could (discretely) make some enquiries, just to put your mind at rest? The bridesmaid survival kits you've made are really cute, I might be pinching a few ideas from there :p Your wedding dress and shoes are gorgeous ... I have a touch of shoe envy going on! Very pretty centrepieces too
You ladies put me to shame with your organisation skills. I haven't made much progress this month but having had a bit of an upset over my bridesmaids hating the bridesmaid dress that my OH picked I've now ordered the below online that my mum found on facebook. Will have to wait and see what they're like when they turn up though as they are a 'one size fits all' job!
Aw thank you Rebeccafcr, it's the only dress that we found that we all liked and suited both my MOH & BM. The seamstress that's sorting mine out for me has said it wouldn't take her too long, a few weeks or so. Guess that depends on how much work she has on =/ HappyOrangeConfetti226, am sorry to hear that your BM's didn't like your OH's choice of dress I can't see the pic you've posted but I'm sure its lovely
He subject of flashing centrepieces, I did a mock up of what I hope our centrepieces will look like. Yesterday I was in homebase when I spotted a lump of oasis reduced in price down to 70p so I bought. I then bought roses and tulips from Lidl and this is the result. If our centrepieces end up looking like these on the day then I will be very pleased. I will probably change a few as I think the red has dominated it too much. I will use more yellow and orange roses/tulips with just a few red ones. I Found the process quite therapeutic. I now understand why florists charge a lot. It took me a while to get to this finished and our florist will have to do 9 of these!
Everyone has dress wobbles, I’m constantly having them
thinking I won’t love it or I won’t fit into it when it arrives in September! I’m
sure as soon as it comes in and you put it on you’ll get that feeling again and
will remember why you picked it!
Hope you have a lovely weekend and that you get a nice
wedding ring that cheers you up!
Absolutely loving all the pictures, keep them coming please :-)
Sooooo we nipped into BHS and I tried on the tea length dress I loved and it was stunning BUT I looked like a guest not a bride. I tried another one and I absolutely loved it too.
and then this one....I went to order it on Friday but the website kept crashing today. I tried again today and it's out of stock in my size. I actually cried. I love love love this dress. I've emailed them to see if they can locate it.
The invites look great Lui, the skull stamp looks awesome. I should probably get on with mine as my next job!
firsttimebride83 - I think that happens to a lot of brides, you think you want a certain type of dress only to find the one is something completely different! Those dresses are beautiful, I hope they can find the one you want in your size.
I actually did some wedding related too this weekend. I bought my wedding ring! So happy with it. I can't wait until it's ready. It's exactly what I wanted. Here's a flash:
It's only the pretend one so the real one should be more sparkly. Oh and I do have a little finger, despite what the picture would suggest
I've been absent for a couple of weeks as I've been training for my new job and been away. I've been trying to have a catch up though and see how everyone is doing.
How far has everyone got?
We've had issues with our invites so we have just ordered some from eBay. I was getting stressed out over them so we have just decided to do with something really simple. The only thing is we have to hand write them. But at least we can send them out soon :-)
We have also just booked our honeymoon. 10 days in Mauritius, eek ? I'm so excited! Apart from 2 nights in Cornwall when I was 36 weeks pregnant we have never been on holiday together. We decided to have a baby, get a mortgage and plan a wedding all in two years so I think our honeymoon will be a well deserved rest!
Can I ask how long your entrance music is please? Ours is 2 minutes 17 seconds and I'm worried this won't be long enough? Xx
How are we all? Sorry for my absence, you'll remember how busy I have been at work (LittleMissPanda remember how i was hiding under my desk to avoid emails the the phone!) well I found out a couple of weeks ago that I am going to be made redundant at the end of May. Obviously I am gutted, because I get married 7 months tomorrow and I have worked such long hours (7am - 8:30pm) for most of this year and I feel like its personal. (I know its not) but I have just been so worried about the wedding etc. Unfortuantely I am no further forward in relation to finding a job, but OH parents have offered us some money as a loan so that we dont have to worry. Our venue needs half of the money in April and so we are trying to save like crazy a) incase i lose my job earlier and b) becuase we know we have so much still to save. I did have a job inteview last week, so keeping my fingers crossed for that.
However on a positive note, we are ordering our flowers this morning (we found a gorgeous florist that will make us the artifical ones we need) - we have chosen the hymns, readings and poems for our church service. We have printed our table names, confirmed our vegetarian options, ordered material for the order of service (we are making our own) confirmed our wedding rehearsal date and who needs to attend, we have been booked onto our marraige prep course and have gone through our service with the vicar, i have spoken with the dj, tog and vog to ensure all is ok with them. I have booked my mum a makeup trial with my mua and we have been to our venue to sort our planning meetings. The only thing I have done nothing about is bridesmaid dresses; I am hoping to go shopping my with best friend in May (its the next time i have a free weekend) - other than that we have everything sorted for our wedding! I just need a job to pay for it all!
Hope you are all having a good day, so much seems to have gone on over the past few weeks! You are look like you are making great progress! LittleMissPanda, as my date twin, its 7 months tomorrow!! Hasn't the time gone so quickly!!!!
SarahPoppy we are honeymooning in Mauritius! Where are you staying and when do you fly?! it looks so gorgeous! I think sometimes I'm more excited about the honeymoon than anything else! xx
Love your wedding ring, looks lovely with your engagement
ring and side note, that colour of nail varnish is awesome! Love that! When do you get to pick up your wedding ring?
Do you feel a bit more in the wedding mood now that you have your ring? I do
hope so.
Sarapoppy – Glad you got them sorted, when are you thinking
of sending them out? Ohhhhhhh Mauritius, lovely! Very very jealous of you now
you have booked that! Where are you staying? When are you going? My entrance
music is a total of 3mins 27 seconds but I have 2 flower girls, one adult
bridesmaid, maid of honour and then me and my dad to go up, even if we have to
cut it short I don’t mind, I’d rather have too much music then not enough. It’s
hard to know without practising I guess.
Sparklybear – Oh no I’m sorry to hear that your losing your
job, you always sound like your working super hard so if I was in your
position, even if it’s not I would take it personally as well, just the thought
of putting in all those hours to just get this in return. Big internet hugs
lovely! I’m sure you will find something and soon! It’s nice that H2B parents
are helping out as a plan B if needs to, hopefully that should take a little of
your stress away in case you can’t find a job in time, but with 7 months to go
like I’ve said I’m sure you will have no issues finding a new job.
Apart from the job it sounds like you have got loads done.
Not much to update on my side. Have had another positive result to my request for best wishes - Norman Lovett who was the first Hollie in Red Dwarf has sent a signed photo with personalised message. On a downside heard from Tom Jones' management company to say that as he gets lots of requests for messages he is unable to which is a shame.
Other than that, we've paid the next installment for our venue and should be having a meeting with the co-ordinator sometime this month to discuss decorations, food etc.
Lui - I love your invites and stationery - they are stunning :-)
AnnaMolly - your wedding band is beautiful and complements your engagement ring well.
SaraPoppy - Your honeymoon sounds fab. We haven't really started looking for ours as the h2b works shifts so we need to work out when we can go, and then see if my parents are free to childmind my son for the week. I'm still trying to decide on the piece of music for coming in, possible an instrumental version of 'She's the One' by Robbie, but I'm also not sure how long it needs to be.
SparklyBear - Sorry to hear about your job. Fingers crossed that something better is just around the corner for you. Glad that your h2b's parents are helping you out so that you don't have to get too stressed.
