Thanks Lui ? We went to same place last year and it was really nice. Am also hoping for sunshine, would be nice to just laze about by the swimming pool and hang out on the beach. I do believe that we need a flash of these boots... Aw Archer sounds so cute, and clever too if he knows which cupboard is his treats cupboard! Bless him for wanting attention on his terms, that's a typical kitty cat thing ? Letter for the MUA is all written and tucked away safely now Ooh let us know how the RSVP's go, I've had a few back this week ?
Its so nice being able to talk to ladies who understand the pain of being an absolute ghost! Relieved to hear the you've had fake bake and liked it Anna Molly. I one I'm having comes with body exfoliation first so I'm guessing that's a good thing? What are the shoes like? We might be able to help you find some others that are similar
My hangers got posted yesterday, I'll flash the picture she sent me ...
We were quite cheeky with our holiday, and booked it when The Sun had their offer on. Saved ourselves quite a bit of money and as we've been there before we know we like it. Would recommend it to anyone ? I feel the same as you, although granted I don't do any of the exercise you do! There's just been so much that's been going on lately it's totally drained me.
Absolutely love your boots, and totally agree that you should wear them once you've had enough of your wedding shoes. Maybe wear them for your first dance in case your OH steps on your toes ?
Haha poor Archer! I'd happily take him, but my current landlord won't let us have any pets now
Feel like I've done a bit today ... have written the letter for my MUA, bought a few little bits for my OH's present box and had time to properly write down my time schedule for the big day
Aw the great RSVP watch, welcome to the club!
Ooh your hangers look lovely, very stylish with the black bow. I went with white & pink because the BM & MOH dresses are cornflower blue, and my mums dress is burgundy with pink chrysanthemums ?
Might do that next year and have as many holidays as I can
to make up for this year.
That’s exactly how I feel and at the moment and I’m
shattered, like my body today is an effort lol!
Thanks, haha you remembered! Maybe, although my mum won’t be
impressed but hey she’s not the one wearing them. Maybe they can be my hangover
boots for the next day when I am having breakfast with like the whole world apparently.
Oh no, that’s sad, maybe get a turtle or something,
something that’s little and won’t be noticeable, you could just pretend it’s a
nice decorative stone when they come over to check over the place.
It’s so painful, I think I would rather watch paint dry or a
kettle boil.
Thanks!! It’s to match with the colour scheme of black and
white (although with the girls dresses being black thought the natural hangers
would be nice). Yours are lovely and will go well with the cornflower blue and
will match well with your mums dress.
You have got loads done. I think today all I’ve done is paid
off the remaining amount for the photobooth.
Just now leaves the whole thing and favours and flower girl
shoes to pay for.
I would recommend using The Sun holidays, I've not had any problems and there was loads of places to choose from. It's nice to go away, even if it isn't far from home
Maybe it's this wedding stuff that's causing us to feel drained and fed up! It doesn't help for me that work is insanely busy thanks to the pension changes
I'm like an elephant, I never forget ? Ah mum's don't always appreciate awesome foot wear! Hangover boots sounds cool, breakfast with the whole world not so good
OMG I am so getting a turtle now!!
Waiting for RSVP's definitely tests the patience...
Here's hoping everyone involved likes their hangers!
To quote my OH "Ah don't think about what needs paying for, leave that till tomorrow" ?
Like your H2B saying.. may adopt that when it comes to
thinking about paying for the venue. Hehe!
I think your right LMP, maybe all the dress and planning is
just getting too much? Maybe we should all toddle off for a spa break and food!
I’m so glad I don’t work on the pension sides of things,
however so much training is happening at the moment and trying to log and book
it all... too much haha!
Please do get a turtle and please do also name it after one
of the ninja turtles... please? Haha!
I am now literally counting down my last 29 mins before I
can go, I love home and bed.... haha! ?
Why did I get the early bus into work this morning?! Seriously, I am an idiot ☹️ Be very grateful you don't work on the Pensions side of things, and feel free to pity me that not only do I deal with Pensions but I'm also a phone consultant...
I agree that work, life and wedding planning is all becoming a bit much and fully support your idea to toddle off for a spa break and food ??️?
Hm should I name him Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael or Michelangelo? Ooh yeah I still remember!! Oh wait that's quite sad isn't it ?
Completely off topic but me and my OH exchanged on our house a couple of days ago, its been a nightmare but we move on the 21st May. I'm so excited!
The wedding planning has has a firm back seat over the past few weeks but after the 21st its full steam ahead!
My stress levels are nearly coming out of my head and people think we are crazy buying a house and getting married all within a few months....im sure it'll all be fine! roll on honeymoon
That's really exciting that you exchanged on your house and its all done. Best of luck for the house move, I'm sure it will all go smoothly. You'll definitely deserve a honeymoon after moving and planning a wedding at the same time!
Sorry I’ve been a bit slow today, I spent this morning
wrapped in a blanket, covering my head trying to get rid of what I learnt now
was a migraine. I’m now sat a work with a fuzzy head being a trooper haha!
Ugh phone consultancy is the worse, I have to do that
sometimes and I hate it, I’m not a fan of speaking on the phone anways!
We should all go for spa and food! Yey!!
Haha TURTLES IN A HALF SHELL, TURTLE POWER!
MrsFRtoBE – YEY congrats on the house!! Hope moving goes
well.
Oh Lui you poor thing! Migraines are the absolute worst, I have to take daily tablets to keep mine at bay and they still sometimes surface ☹️ Can't believe you went to work though, well done!
I actually really like my job normally, I love being a phone consultant. I get paid to sit down and talk all day, what's not to love? ?
Ok we totally need an October Brides Spa Day!
I'm so going home to watch the original series of TMNT *hums theme tune*
This is my first ever one and just thought it was a bad
headache, now its lingering and my friends at work who have them say how I feel
is how they are when they have it makes me think it was probably my first one.
I feel for you though... it must be pants cause damn today
hurts! We also have a lady at work that has to do the same as you. Poor brains.
I used to love it but something snapped and now i don’t, the
rest of my job I love haha! I think its come from my previous years of working
in a call centre.
Hahah yeaaa spa day!! Wooooooo
I had that on DVD, H2B younger brother brought it, it was
amazing! Remember the brain thing that lives in the robot (i think) body? I can’t
remember the same now.
Make sure you lie down in a cool dark quiet room when you get home, it can help ease some of the pain/tension. I normally pop a cold flannel on my forehead and that helps too.
Our brains do go through a lot, it's no wonder they rebel now and again!
Oh gosh I hope I don't reach that point, I do like my job most days. And the people I work with are pretty great ?
I hereby declare that Mission October Brides 2015 Spa Day is on ?
That is so cool! I have the original Power Rangers series on DVD ... we're definitely awesome ? Kids TV today is rubbish in comparison
Morning ladies ? So since I'm stuck at work on a miserable murky Saturday morning I thought I'd brighten things up with a bit of a flash ? I was SO excited yesterday when my iron diamanté transfers arrived, and I think the dressing gowns look pretty good!
(please excuse the dodgy lighting, I'm missing a few light bulbs at the moment and couldn't work out the best place to take the photos!)
What do you think??
I'd highly recommend these transfers to anyone, they were so easy to use and arrived really quickly http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00Q6ZDJFQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Dressing gowns were a bargain, £10 each from Primark. Their really fluffy and comfy so definitely a good buy in my opinion
Hopefully this helps anyone who's considering DIY-ing their own personalised dressing gowns ?
Aw that's ok sweetie, I did wonder if you were feeling rough. Sleep is quite often the best healer!
Working on a Saturday is sucky, but the overtime pay makes up for it. I realised yesterday that I may have gone a bit OTT with the presents for my MOH, BM and mum so am working all the overtime I can get so I can afford to get everything I want ?
Really pleased that you think the dressing gowns look good, I really like them but it's always good to get other people's opinions ?
Alrighty then ... now exactly how far away are we all from each other again ?
Ooh I have no clue about celebrant meetings, maybe see if any of the ladies in WP can help??
You are so right! I didn't even notice when H2B came To bed.
well that makes sense, if there's a benefit to it then why not, I guess you must be a bit quieter than in the week which must be nice so that you can just get stuff done. Plus if it does mean you don't have to stretch yourself more money wise then why not. Least it's not much longer! ? That's how I always look at over time!
They are nice and simple, nothing to much which is what I like about them! Plus new dressing gown for you! Hehe!
Well I'm Warwickshire/ Midlands area but am mobile hehe!
I asked but no one has responded but weekends the boards normally really quiet so probably will just have to see what happens tomorrow! ? Nervous times!
I rarely notice when my OH comes to bed, but that's because I'm a really heavy sleeper! Good thing to considering how badly he snores ?
It's quite nice today as it is quieter than in the week so I'm getting quite a lot of wedding stuff done (ssh don't tell my boss). I figured the opportunity to make extra money won't last forever so grab it whilst it's there, and like you said it means I don't have to stretch my savings as much.
Yay for new dressing gown! It really is fluffy and so cosy as well ?
I'm the same, although when he gets in sometimes I stirr as he is to move me cause I'm star fishing!
Thats good! That's what I spend my time doing when I have no work, makes me look busy hehe ?. Plus if you work over and have something extra I think you should treat yourself because this is a stressful time and something to help you relax would be good. Just a little thing that lets the stress melt away even for 1 hr or so!
i may purchase one, h2b has dragged me suit shopping for a no. Interview on Wednesday. Now I know how men feel waiting ha!
thats not to far your only the next county over to where h2b is from! We are always down in Berkshire!
I I may have to google later, just feel like I should have questions but not sure what!
Sorry to hear about your migraine Lui - I hate them! Luckily they are a rare occurrence for me.
Congratulations TheFutureMrsKay on completing your exams! A momentous occasion in itself but to be planning a wedding too...crazy amazing stuff!
Thank you everyone for replying to my long list of questions! I had forgotten about stuff like the card box and (stupidly) my vows.
I have now booked my seamstress and have my first fitting appointment in mid August. It seems very real now and has made that bit more motivated to get into shape (that's probably a good thing). Although I don't have a lot to lose, I want to be toned up and lose about 5-6lbs. With such a busy lifestyle a find it difficult to eat healthily all the time and do lots of exercise so I am sure the next few months will be tricky!
Are any of you guys on healthy eating regimes and/or fitness plans?
Apologies for being AWOL. I haven't been well - abdominal and gastric pains that were so painful I actually wondered if I were having heart problems. I am glad to say that after going to the doctors I am now on some tablets for gastric issues and am feeling much better (apart from having a massive purple and yellow bruise where they took bloods!).
My latest news. Invitations are being printed so should be ready to write and post off within next couple of weeks. We went to the venue for our wedding meal tasting a couple of weeks ago now. The food was absolutely stunning - couldn't fault it at all. Really tasty and perfect portion sizes. We're both very happy with our choices.
I've also booked to go and see the seamstress to discuss the alterations I would like to have made to my dress - going on the 21st - very excited.
We've also had to go to our back up best man (fiancé's best friend) as my fiancé's son (16yrs old) who was going to be best man has had his joining date for the Navy so looks like he'll be in training so cannot guarantee he'll be able to get there which is a shame.
Right, I'm going to go and read through all the messages I've missed and try to reply to some :-)
CatD - In answer to your questions :-) Belatedly sorry!
What are you getting your OH as his present?
A book of written (notes and signed, dedicated photos) and tweeted best wishes from some of his favourite celebrities - have had a good response to letters sent including various Doctor Who, Red Dwarf, Blakes 7 actors among others - latest reply was from Michael Caine!). Plus a nice watch for him to wear on the day.
What and who are you getting presents for?
Bridesmaids, best man, mothers.
What are the timings for your day itself?
2pm Ceremony
2.30pm Champagne, canapes and photos
4pm Go into wedding marquee
4.15pm Food served
7.30pm Evening reception starts
8pm First dance
Midnight - disco ends and carriages
Finally (and I know it seems lists seem to be unpopular at the mo), what do you still have left to do?
Suits for the men
Get dress alterations done (initial appointment with seamstress booked for 21/5)
VIcki2015 - Welcome to the October group. Hope your planning is going well :-)
Lui - Sorry to hear you've been suffering from migraines - could it be a food trigger? I used to get them if I ate oranges or drank orange juice. Your boots are fab - I've bought some Converse-type shoes to put on later in the evening for dancing. I also love the hangers - where did you get them?
LittleMissPanda - Your hangers are also fab - are they from the same place as Lui's? Your dressing gowns are great - brilliant idea :-)
MrsFRtobe - Great news on the house - bet you're looking forward to getting settled in the new place.
SaraPoppy - Your dress is stunning and you look beautiful in it :-) Your bridesmaid dresses are a lovely colour and look great
Rebeccafcr - Loved the flash - it's all looking great. Feel I should put together a flash at some stage too.
I forgot in my earlier message to say that my cousin has said that she will be coming from South Africa and she has offered to make my bridal bouquet for me (from silk flowers) so I'm now trying to decide on what I want so I can send her some photos as examples.
Cat D - Glad we were able to help with your questions, any more you have let us know... Ooh your first fitting appointment will be here in no time, this year is flying by! You have the same goals as me regarding weight loss ? I don't want to lose loads, just tone up a bit so I feel a more confident. It is tricky though to do when we all have busy lifestyles! I've found that making small changes does help, switching sugar for Splenda, sweets for fruit, walking to the next bus stop over etc And my OH recently got me a small set of weights so I can do that at home ... I hate the thought of going to a gym, although I do go swimming when I can ...
Lui - How did your meeting with your celebrant go? And good luck Mr Lui for the interview, hope it all goes well. Haha nice to know I'm not the only one that does the star fish! Apparently I'm a duvet thief as well, but I think OH lies about that... Ah cool, I didn't realise we were that close! That makes spa day seem much more do-able ?
MrsWatkinsToBe - Really sorry to hear you've been so unwell, that sounds horrible ☹️ Hope your feeling back to normal really soon. Ooh sounds like you've been busy, will you flash your invites when you have them? Glad your menu tasting went well too. Fingers crossed your OH's son will be able to make it, that's good of your OH's best friend to step in though. We're in a similar position with my OH's brother as he's in the Army and may be posted overseas. It isn't nice, but its for a good reason ? I'm having silk flowers as well ... I'm happy to flash a few pictures of what I'm having if that'll help you at all. I did get my hangers from the same seller as Lui, I found them on Etsy. Mine arrived Saturday and I'm really pleased with them. I'm ridiculously chuffed with the dressing gowns! And finally ... welcome to the Under 5 Months Club ?
Vicki2015 - hello and welcome ? Hope all your plans are going well
Not been on for a few weeks, so i'll try catch up.
Saw someone had mentioned the Sun holidays - we do them and they're SO nice for a cheap break away. We were actually just at the Lakes two weeks ago for 3 days - cost £60 for me, OH and our son so can't grumble.
I was having a major slump at work - like the people who I work with but the management are shocking and treat you like something they stepped in. The company are doing really bad at the moment so have cut all our over time too (I'm contracted to 16 hrs but do around 24 hrs a week) so I've set up my own little cleaning business - all legal and insured lol. It's doing really well and making up for the over time I've lost
I'm also in the process of going from black hair to my natural blonde, it's taking time and plenty of money to do hah! My hair is a strange mix of blonde and ginger at the moment!
Wedding wise - the venue has been paid off, all I have to pay for now is food when everyone decides what they are having. I've found an MUA who does hair too and is doing both, including trials for £50 :-) I think all that is left to buy is OH's suit and our rings x
It came back over the weekend on and off and today its back
again, I think its linked to how tired my body is because it hasn’t had a
break, if I’m not working, I’m at home doing wedding stuff or cooking, running,
ect. Then if I’m not doing that I’m driving H2B around or back down to Berkshire.
With not having any time off work until November I think it’s my body telling
me to slow down a bit.
Luckily this weekend is the last weekend I’m driving down to
Berkshire as I’m refusing to do so until august now (H2B doesn’t drive so I
drive the 200 round trip and I just need a break from it.)
I’ll go over a few messages now:
Cat D – I run between 6-10k 2/3 times a week and eat 1630
calories or under a day. I’ve been doing this for around 2 years now and it’s
helped me lose 5 stone. Its a lot and there are times when i wish i could just
eat a massive cake or not run but I just want to be the best version of me that
I’m happy with in life and at the wedding.
Vicki2015 – Welcome lovely! How are you getting on with
everything?
Mrswatkinstobe – Hope you’re feeling better lovely! Yey for
the invites!! Have you flashed them before? If not you should flash them once
you have them from the printers.
Its a shame that your H2B son may not be there. Hopefully he
can at least be there or they give him a special leave for it.
Me and LMP got them from a person on etsy (https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/BaileyzDesigns)
They arrived and they are fab so I would definitely recommend them.
LMP – It went well, turns out our celebrants are our wedding
planners parents and its a family run place (didn’t know this at all) which is
awesome! They were so lovely and said we can have it however we want. They did
say we would need a reading (which we didn’t realise) so we ended up asking my
brother to do this. Apart from that they were so nice and gave us free reign on
anything so we are writing our own vows and finding a suitable reading that’s “us”.
We just have to give them all the information they require by the 1st
August.
Also turns out they have their own registrars and our
wedding planner is one which is awesome cause shes lovely.
We can deffo work on a spa day! Will need it by the end of
this.
Firsttimebride83 – hope you had a lovely holiday!
Oh going from black to blonde is a pain, I did that, I
actually think it killed my hair. Good luck and i hope your hair turns out
well.
Sounds like you’ve also got a lot of things sorted which is
good!!
Finally ladies, how do I get people from telling me that
they have the invites to actually RSPV’ing. I’ve received lots of Facebook and
texts going “I’ve got your invite...yey!” but no RSPV. Apart from waiting on
the deadline day and just being blunt on FB with the lines of No RSPV no entry
ect...! Just dont understand why people don’t RSPV.
I do believe that was me that mentioned about Sun holidays. My OH and I have got one booked for June, going to a nice Haven caravan site in Weymouth. Your holiday in the Lakes sounds lovely, and a bargain to!
I'm really sorry to hear your having problems at work ☹️ But I think its really awesome that you've set up your own cleaning business, I hope it continues to go really well for you ?
Oh my gosh I remember the strange blonde ginger mix so well! I (stupidly) dyed my lovely blonde hair bright pillar box red when I was 20, and had to spend roughly £200 getting it back to my normal colour ... lesson well learnt ?
Sounds like your making progress on the wedding front, that's a good deal for hair and make-up trials hope that all goes nicely for you.
Where abouts are you? We'll get you added to the spa day...
Lui - Sounds to me like you definitely need a break. My migraines are normally trigged by stress, or when I get too run down. Try and take a break from some things if you can, we have another Bank Holiday coming up soon, can you use that long weekend to relax? Definitely knock driving to Berkshire on the head for a little while ? Aw I'm so glad your celebrant meeting went well, it sounds lovely. That's nice that you asked your brother to do a reading for you as well, it's a good way to make people feel more 'involved'. Oh don't get me started on RSVPs! I've had so many people text/Facebook message me saying "Ooh your invites are lovely, thank you so much" ... then NOTHING! I think I'm going to wait until a bit nearer to my deadline date and then just message people saying "Hey, I know you got my invite but I didn't get your RSVP can you let me know for sure if your coming please?"
Thanks for the wishes about my health. Went to the doctor's today to pick up the blood test results - turns out I'm anaemic so need to pop back later this week to get that sorted out. But otherwise feeling pretty well now.
I might be up for a spa day depending on where and when (I'm based in Cardiff but have car and can travel)
I will flash the invites when we get them back from the printers :-)
