Ladies, I will obviously need to make more so I’m always happy to ship some out in a tiny box for you! ?

Although god knows if they will make it! Hehe just as long as I don’t eat them I’m happy.

Hopefully I get it, i am all fingers and thumbs though haha. ? Just cant use the paint again, i was given a childs paint brush and it just was crap to use haha! ☹️

I second what AnnaMolly said LMP! I would be so happy with them!! The boxes are beautiful and I love everything that goes in them! Very much spoilt ladies hehe!?

Me first me first! With the day I'm having I DEMAND a biscuit box ?
Trust me sweetie if I can manage to pipe then anyone can! I've also found that Dr Oetker icing is pretty good and quite easy to use...

Dunno if that helps at all ?

Aw thank you for saying the present boxes are nice, I was worried that maybe I should have bought more but I've already spent a fortune ?

Hahah You can have a biscuit box do not worry my lovely!! Oh I have never seen these before in my tesco! I think I shall take a look over the weekend and give them a try, if they work then jobs a goodun.

I’ve tried the gel pens but they don’t dry and they stick together which is why I was going to try royal icing. I was thinking of purchasing these:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pack-Squeezy-Clear-Sauce-Bottles/dp/B003GCPPWC

One white and the rest all colours so I don’t have to use a piping bag. I’m going to purchase some on pay day and give them a whirl. Hopefully they are a lot better.

Oh they are awesome!! Your girls are going to love them! No doubt about it! Did you make the glasses yourselves?

Those presents are fab LMP, I'd be chuffed to get one of those. I'm currently doing my bm a box but need a few more bits I think. She's not having that much paid for her, just her dress and a stay in the hotel the night before. Her hairs to short to have anything done with it, she's not really fussed on makeup so will do her own and she offered to buy her own shoes.

Lui your icing skills are far better than mine, I couldn't even atempt anything like that!

I want to get my favours out the the way early, I'm doing sweets in jars but not sure how soon I can put the sweets in. Anyone know if they'll be alright kept in jars?

    Yay biscuits ?
I always get on well with Dr Oetker stuff, I used it to ice gingerbread over Christmas Smiley smile
Love the squeezy sauce bottle idea though ... never would've thought of that!

I wish I could say I made the glasses, but no I'm definitely not that talented.
I washed and ironed the pj's though ... do I get brownie points for that ?

Thank you bliss balloons Smiley smile
If you haven't already got a box I'd definitely recommend Home Sense, was spoilt for choice (and ended up buying 2 for me oops!)
Not too sure what else you could put in your BM box ... how about her favourite sweets, nice perfume or something for her hair?

I would've thought sweets would be fine for a few months in an air tight jar. I've had some white chocolate jazzies in a tub since Christmas and their still good!

Bliss – What are you putting in them? If its gummy sweets you may be fine to put them in and place them in a cool cupboard, if its chocolate I would wait a bit closer to the time maybe and then store them in a fridge?

Have you thought about adding things that you would have point in a toilet box but just for them, like a really nice lip balm? Depending on what you want to spend a little bottle of Moet or processco?

LMP – Me too, they are good stuff. I saw it on masterchef where they are using them for sauces, so icing must be Justas good as long as the consistency is right?

That did make me giggle! You do get brownie points for that indeed! Just touching the iron gets you that in my house!

Were they from Etsy? Seems a very etsy thing!

These are what I purchased for my girls. They are packaged up so well that I haven’t seen them irl yet. However I shook them to make sure they were not broken hahah

I would imagine that as long as the consistency is right it should work, surely it's just a slightly sturdier piping bag ?
I am ashamed to admit I had to dust the iron first!!

I got the champagne glasses from a lady on here absolutely ages ago, I've no idea where she got them from.
    Love the G&T glasses ?

Don't worry I never use the Iron. I make sure I buy clothes that don't need it! Had a very unfortunate event when I was 3 and decided to kiss it while it was hot. What can I say I was just a loving child haha.

Awesome, these forums do have some awesome little finds for sale.

    Thanks!

So I just had a thought, we are asking people for money for our honeymoon. We have one joint account but in our names now, why happens to cheques when they are in my married name and I don't have a joint account in my married name yet.

    What an awkward dilemma haha!

    You kissed an iron?! Ouch!

I've bought quite a few things from various ladies on here, always fuss free and really nice bits & pieces ?

Hm maybe you could take your marriage certificate into the bank when you want to pay in the chqs? I can't imagine that would be a problem.
We're being cheeky and asking people for $ for our honeymoon next year, that way we can't spend them beforehand!

I did indeed! Not my proudest moment as a 3 year old! Not sure if I was being vain or just stupid.

That’s a clever idea, least you don’t have to be tempted as it’s a different currency you can’t use it! I like it!

That’s what I was thinking but never really thought about it! It’s really something that has never crossed my mind hahah.

    Always the little things!

Hey AnnaMolly, we started sending out invites 2 weeks ago with an RSVP of 10th July 2015. That then gives us till end of July 2015 to chase up remaining RSVPs. We shall be meeting our venue events person beginning of August to discuss numbers, confirm food, menu tasting, etc. I hope to have definite numbers the time we meet her.

Interesting that everyone here backs up my thoughts. OH wanted to leave it until 2 weeks before the wedding!! I said that was nuts. He insists that's how all the other weddings we've been to have done it (it's not!).

    Hello Ladies!!

Loving catching up on your plans! Me and OH recently got our wedding rings and wanted to share them with you guys Smiley smile

We are very excited, I ended up with a white gold band with diamonds (Something I never imagined I would go for I always thought I was a plain band kinda girl) and my OH had to be awkward and pick one of the most expensive rings in the shop he decided on a palladium brushed metal band (£550 ? to be fair he did get a discount for getting my engagement ring from the same shop and he got it down to £470)

We originally had a budget of £300 for both of our rings and ended up spending £670.00 ? luckily we have saved money else were and had the spare cash! and my OH has the cheek to say I have expensive taste lol

Has anyone else got their rings yet?

    They're lovely AlmostMrsS.

We also doubled our ring budget and we haven't even got OHs ring yet, oops. I figure it's something that will last a lifetime so it's worth it. At least that's how I sold it to OH when I fell in love with a sparkly band Smiley winking

AlmostMrsS, that is a pretty wedding ring. It really does fit nicely round your engagement ring. My DH is also getting a very expensive thick platinum thing but like AnnaMolly says, it is something he will wear for a very longtime so why not get something he likes.

    Hello October Ladies,

It has been a long time since I last posted anything. I had a quiet few weeks in the planning and by the time I came back you have all progressed on the thread so fast. I have found myself scrolling through to see if any tantalising flashes have been uploaded. I will try and get up to speed with everybody’s progress.

I will also be flashing in the next few posts as I have since had a burst of energy to get things done since all my family in America confirmed that they would be able to make it! That was a nice boost as we have not seen some of them for over 10years. Wedding and family reunion all in one! All 8 of them.

We have started to send out invites to our relatives and friends. We have already sent out those for singles and couples without children. Depending on how many RSVPs we get with a decline from the relatives abroad and here, children might not be invited as our venue can only hold 100 in the room that we booked.

These are our invites. I don't know why we picked this design but we both saw it on the internet and we both went, thats it! And that was that.

The Insert is also a smaller card - a folded business card from vista print with same theme.

We have also finally made the final payment to the reception venue. A huge load off our shoulders! We would like to pay for a hog roast for the 9pm food as our breakfast will be quite early, ceremony is at 12 noon. The hog roast is rather expensive (£1500) but once my mum tasted it, she is so sold on it that she is determined to pay for it. If not, sandwiches will do.

We plan to pay for the church next week after payday, this is one of the big bill that we have.

I had my makeup and hair trial and I was rather pleased with it. I love makeup so I won’t be one those brides that only has a little to look like me. On a normal day I wear a full face of makeup bar fake lashes and eyeliner (which I will have on the day – this is my going out look). Basically I will wear a full face with strong eye makeup (darker skin can take a lot of strong colours); I will look like the usual me but more refined and probably neater than I normally would do it (on train, bus or work loos).

I also bought the bridesmaids shoes about 3 weeks ago. I had gone to Lakeside with mum to try and find an outfit for her and we just happened to wander into the shoe department in Debenhams, I saw these shoes and I loved them. I just pictured their feet looking very pretty and dainty in these. They both loved them.

    Hey all,

Lots has happened in the past few days!

Thanks for your thoughts with the MOH situation. It seems as though there was no reason for my MOH's friends to not mention the wedding before but they are only have 30 guests, 2 of which are my MOH and her husband. I have suggested that if it's possible (not sure what is planned for me and how far she would have to travel) she could try being at the wedding until the first dance is done and getting to mine after that (even if it's late on/after the night celebrations have started) and at least she would get to know people and see them for both days - not ideal but better than first anticipated. It also seems that it has been best for my sister to take over as a lot more has been sorted now and plans are well underway - yay!

I must say I am loving all of these flashes! I'm hoping to get some up soon!

We ordered my ring on Tuesday and it looks like vintage version of a cross-between AlmostMrsS' ring and Happy Polly's ring! Annoyingly though, we got my OH's ring finger sized a few weeks back in H Samuel. Once we had this we ordered the ring (it is being made in Utah). As we were getting my ring, the jeweler asked us what size my OH was. It was only after speaking to them that we found out that H Samuel were completely wrong! We have now had to pay a further £200 to get his ring resized as it was ready to be shipped! At least we had a mini contingency pot - phew!

My birthday was fab by the way - thanks for the birthday wishes LMP!! I have been having mini birthday celebrations with friends and family since Saturday so it has been really drawn out but loads of fun!

Tomorrow (or today now) I am having my hair and make-up trial - I hope all goes well!

AnnaMolly - We sent out our invites towards the end of April and gave people until 29th July to get RSVPs back (3 months before our wedding). This gives us lots of time to chase people up and collate all the info to hand in. Ours is done via email so we hope that people will find it easy to do and get it done quickly. We have had most of our day ones back now but not many evening ones - fingers crossed people get on it soon!

LMP - I love the presents ideas - they look great! I wish I could do as much as that for my bridal party!

Looking forward to hearing more from you all soon!

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here for a while, but loved reading everyones updates

We moved into our new home a week ago and getting everything sorted, the new carpets are going in today Smiley smile finally in the house is a huge weight lifted as I can now concentrate on our wedding!

in sad news, a few of you may remember me saying about my friend getting married who was battling cancer, she lost her battle last thursday (the day we moved) and i have her funeral on monday. weirdly, I'm relieved she is no longer suffering but ever so sad i won't have her their on my special day, I'm hoping her husband will still attend.

on that note, I'm stuck to what i do re my friends husbands invite, they got a STD, they were invited all day, but i don't know whether to invite him to the evening, does putting a +1 appear insensitive if i were to invite him thru the day? does he need a +1? he knows a few other people going. Im good friends with him too but worried i will put him in an awkward position.

    xx

Sorry to hear about your friend. I'd still send the husband a day invite he can always decline if he's not feeling up to it. I wouldn't put a plus one on if there's people he will already know there then I don't think there's a need to. Or if you will be seeing him you could just say he's welcome to bring a friend along.

Here's my work in progress bridesmaid gift, just need something to fill the gap! We're doing something similar for the best man as well. Gifts seem to be taking ages to sort.

    Hi Ladies,

I've been AWOL for a while... i'm back from our fabulous 2 weeks in Fuerteventura (suffering major holiday blues!)

The holiday ended up just being us 2 with mum having a heart attack in the weeks before, she wasn't allowed to travel.

We had such a great time. With all the stress in the run up, it did us both a world of good.

Trying to get back into wedding mode now! I've started getting RSVP's back... 2 without names on so far... making me laugh people can't see the line to right their names on! lol

I've ordered my favour fillers... pink personalised M&M's!

Ooh, my veil arrived whilst I was away from the wedding veil shop online. I absolutely love it! It's exactly what I wanted! And i'm no so pleased I decided to have a veil.

I've tried catching up on the posts whilst i've been away. You've all been busy. Seems your all doing ok Smiley smile

I had a dress fitting before the holiday, but the manufacturer didn't understand the dress shop's instructions, so I had to go down to the shop again this Monday, and they arranged for the designer of the dress to come to fit me into it! So hopefully that bit's now done and it can be made!

I'm back into full fitness and diet mode to shift some weight before the big day... I leave everything until the last minute!

    Hope your all doing well!xx

    Morning lovelies Smiley smile
Ooh lots to catch up on...

Lui - If you ask your bank I'm sure they'll be able to tell you what their process is, but I would've thought that if you take all the chqs in your maiden name into the bank with your marriage certificate they would cash them for you & update your name at the same time.
I'm hoping it wasn't too cheeky to ask for $, but you can get currency pretty much anywhere now =/

AnnaMolly - Glad we were able to help Smiley smile
I personally think leaving it until 2 weeks before the wedding is absolutely nuts! I can't think of any wedding I've been to that has had an RSVP date that close to the actual wedding date.
I totally agree with you that it's fine to have an expensive wedding ring, it does have to last a lifetime after all!

AlmostMrsS - Your wedding rings are lovely, your engagement ring and wedding band are very sparkly Smiley smile
My OH ended up with a palladium wedding band as well, his has cost more than my engagement & wedding ring put together! We still have 3 monthly payments to make then we get ours.

Happy Polly - Ooh your wedding band is very sparkly, I'm thinking that we're all ladies that like a bit of sparkle ?
Really happy for you that your American family can all make your wedding day, that'll be one heck of a party!
Your invitations are really nice, I haven't seen any like that before Smiley smile
Glad to hear your make-up trial went well, sounds like you know exactly what look you want which is always good.
Love the bridesmaids shoes Smiley smile

Cat D - I think the compromise you've come up with for your MOH is sensible, hopefully she'll be able to still make part of your hen do Smiley smile glad to hear your sister has plans well under way for you!
What a faff for your OH's wedding ring, good thing you managed to get it sorted before it was shipped though. Looking forward to seeing a flash of your wedding ring soon :p it sounds lovely
Gotta love drawn out birthdays, always good fun!
Good luck for your hair and make-up trial today, hope it goes well.
Really pleased with the positive feedback on the presents!!

MrsFRtobe - Congratulations on moving into your new house Smiley smile Yay for being able to concentrate on your wedding!
I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, hope your doing ok. With regards to her husband I would maybe let him know that he's welcome to bring a friend if he wants the extra support?

bliss balloons - The gifts look lovely, the necklace is very pretty Smiley smile
I know what you mean about them taking ages to sort out ... I had a total block for ages and couldn't think of anything to buy!

Rebeccafcr - Glad to hear you had a lovely holiday, hope your mum is feeling better now.
Can't believe you received RSVP's without any names on that's incredible!
Love the thought of personalised pink m&m's Smiley smile
Glad to hear your veils arrived and that you love it, I got mine from the same place and think its great.
Good luck for your dress fitting, hope all goes well

    Love and hugs to all
    xXx

Lunch time... means one thing, some fruit and a catch up with you ladies (Yeyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!)

AnnaMolly – You OH is crazy, 2 weeks before? Giving people 2 ½ months to me feels too long and that they may forget but long and that close to the wedding? Does he not know the stress it would cause you and venues needing numbers 4-8 weeks before hand! I swear men don’t understand things something.

AlmostMrsS- Beautiful rings! Love a little bit of sparkle. I have seen a theme with us ladies, the rings seem to be mainly the wishbone shape and sparkly. Seems like we all have the same taste! I know what you mean about blowing the budget a little. I *thought* I wanted a plain band, soon as that sparkle was on, loved it, had to have it! So I went over my budget by £150. It’s ok though I worked it out like you guys!

HappyPolly – Love your ring too!! Love your invites; they are very different to what I have seen before! Ohhh a hog roast would be lovely! My MOH who is getting married next year is having one and I think it’s a good way to keep the budget down from a buffet as well.

Your make up sounds lovely! Plus as you have mentioned if this is your normal look you can just have a little play around and make it a little different for the wedding.

Those shoes are lovely. They don’t seem too high either (unless the website is playing tricks). Good spot!

Cat D – Good news about your MH! It’s nice that you have been able to sort something out so that she doesn’t miss out.

Ohhh will you flash your ring when you have it? It sounds lovely! Really want to have a peak!

That doesn’t sound good about OH ring. We were told before checking for rings (H2B got his from America as its made of wood) to check a few different jewellers as they can measure you at different sizes.

How are you having your hair? Do you have an idea yet?

MrsFRtoBe – Glad the house move went ok for you! Least that’s one stressful thing now leaves you to do another stressful thing!

I’m really sorry to hear that your friend passed away. Big hugs to you lovely.

It may be best to pop and see her husband when you give the invite and let him know that he is welcome to the wedding if he feels like he wants to and its understandable if he doesn’t and if he wishes to bring someone he is more than welcome to. Even if he knows people he could bring a close family member or friend just for support if its a little too much.

I don’t think he will feel you’ve put him in that position and will probably be happy that you have thought about him.

Bliss- LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THESE! Those little hip flasks are awesome! I saw you post them before and they looked good on the site but love them in person!!

Rebeccafcr – Hope you had a lovely holiday!! Hope your mum is feeling better now. Ohhhh people and RSPV are just crazy! Just tell us who you are and if you’re coming, how hard is this?

I love the m&m idea! I’ve seen them around and love them!

Glad you liked your veil! You should flash it Smiley winking

Oh dear that’s not good about the shop and the designer but hey least they are coming to get it right which is awesome for you.

I’m with you on the fitness thing. Running 3 times a week and just eating healthy! I really however want some cake haha!

I am so sorry for your loss xxx

Well I wanted to update you guys on some bargains I got recently.

I picked up dressing gowns for the day - I found them in Quality Save of all places £10.00 each so I picked up one each for our bridesmaids and my lovely mum picked me a Bride to be one up Smiley smile (please excuse how creased the bridesmaid one is)

Then there is my Cake Topper - I have had my heart set on a Willow Tree cake topper since we got engaged however at £32.00 - £36.00 I had put it into my maybe pile as I thought we have more important things to buy right now. Then I was browsing Ebay and I found the exact cake topper I wanted up for auction as a unwanted gift brand new in the box, long story short I won it and only paid £5.65 for it plus £3.99 delivery! Bloody bargain!!

Has anyone else managed to get any good bargains?

Also I am currently in the middle of some DIY - I have been collecting douwe egberts coffee jars and also been getting my family to save them. I have been taking the labels off them, throwing away the lids and glueing twine/Hessian string (not sure on the actual name) around the outside to make cute little candle holders for around the venue.

    Hey Lui,

yes, I will flash. It's down at my mums so will take a pic this weekend Smiley smile

yes, the dress thing was a bit of a mare. I live in Derby and bought the dress at a shop in Essex so it's a bit of a trek each time! Oh well, perk to meet the designer I guess!

the holiday was fab thanks, suffering post holiday blues! So have been trying to go wedding mad to bring me out of it!

mums ok at the moment, she has further tests and treatment to come in June so we'll see how things go!

The fitness thing is great but tough!xx

    Hi Everyone,

YAY FINALLY, we are getting married. 5 years into our relationship, 3 years after our engagement ?

Friday 23rd October 2015 is THEE date. Only booked a couple of weeks ago, we managed to get an excellent deal from our dream venue so very exciting times. Slightly stressing at the amount to do in such a short amount of time though....

So far we've booked to give notice at our local registry office, provisionally booked our registrar, paid deposit to the venue and brought my dress!

How's everyone getting on with their planning?

    Holly xx

    Hi Everyone

Just in the last couple of weeks booked our wedding for Friday 23rd October 2015!

Can hardly control my excitement right now! Been together 5 years, engaged for 3 and we've managed to get our dream venue we couldn't afford on a special offer discount!

So much to plan so little time though.... Where is everyone at?!

    Holly xx

AlmostMrsS – They are fantastic dressing gowns and a good little bargain for them and you cake toppers! J

Ohhhh hope to see your candle holders once they are complete they sound awesome ?

Rebeccafcr – The fact that you get to meet the designer is really cool, because they can know what you want to have done and do it how you want.

Jusat throw yourself in there so you can just beat the holiday blues. Just think it’s not long until you have your honeymoon if you having one so it’s something to look forward to.

God the fitness is tough, it’s hard to stay in the balance I need, my god I just want to eat all the crap food. Makes it worse when I am due on because the urge is ten times worse. How are you doing with it?

    Thanks lovely!

Hollyo92 – Welcome to the group lovely!!

You will be fine, there are a few ladies in this group that have only been planning for one or two months so you are in good hands for advice from them. What’s your dress like? Do you have a colour scheme? Fill us all in ?

So ladies yesterday I had a bit of an impromptu make up test with the person whos doing it and I love it. Its exactly how I want it to be, the only thing i may change is the lipstick to a more matte red.

Also does anyone know of anything that I can put over the lipstick so that it doesn’t come off. Managed to cover OH with lipstick kisses and I think archer may have some lipstick on his fur. (oops!)

    Hi HollyO92

You'll be surprised how much you can get done in a short space of time. From booking our venue, I did most things within the first 4 weeks! So sorting the invites, booking the photographer, ordering stuff for center pieces, cake maker etc. You'll be fine.

Lui, the fitness thing. When I get focused, I can be really good. But it's a lifelong battle (i'm on the larger side of life!)

I'm easily knocked out of focus.

I'm at the stage now where back from hols, I just need to start a fresh and get stuck in! I wont be a skinny bride by any means, but I just want to look better than I do currently. i just need to get into a routine!

The daft thing is, it's quite hard to get me to the gym sometimes, but when i'm there, i'm fine and train hard!

Rebecca - I know exactly how you feel! I'm the same! When I'm focused and in the routine it's awesome but as soon as I come out of it boom weight goes back on. I was lot larger before I started so I know how you feel. I've lost a lot of weight but I do t think I will be a skinny bride either or a skinny person ever but I'm happy with how I am. I'm the thinnest I've ever been but I have hips and a chest so I know I will look better with a little weight behind me.

It is hard to try and fit it in life right now for me too. With trying to fit everythin wedding in and life and work, sometimes it is a struggle and the first thing that goes is a run. Week can perk each other up if we are having a hard time trying to get into the routine! We can be each other's support!! ??.

All I would be happy with is just fit my dress either stays the same or needs taking in. I'll be gutted if it has to be let out.
